How HERT Became a HOONIGAN - TST Podcast
Ойын-сауық
Hertrech Eugene Jr, better known as Hert, is a staple of the HOONIGAN family and the car world. Hert is as unique as they come and he tells us the WHOLE story of how he came to be one of the premier tire shredders, from his very first car and first accident to his first engine swap, to what he's up to today. Hert has killed a few cars, jobs, and sets of tires.
Known for a no-holds-barred driving style, lack of mechanical sympathy, and aesthetic mods to match, the way he operates is inspiring. We'll talk about how his love of cars began, how he landed at HOONIGAN, and more. @hertlife

Hert is by far one of my favorite people of all time. Thanks for having him.

Would love to see David Freiburger (hot rod, drag week etc etc etc) and Mike Finnegan in the future if you could swing it, Not easy because Mike is in Georgia. Even David alone is like 2 guests in 1, His bio is loooong. He's worked on everything and his dad (during his life) was a big deal much like yours so there would be countless stories.
hert is a modern day legend.
Love how mellow Hert is! Wishing him the best on any project, career and life!
We do love Rotary’s engines lol the Toyota Starlet with rotary swap was the shit!
The most humble hoonigan there is!!! Watch everything I can with Hert in it . season finally of one with on hoonigan was epic much respect great podcast will be following from now on
Man, I love Hert! He basically MADE the entire Hoonigan image, massive legend.
One of the all time greats, both as a guest and just as a person
Love Hert! One of the reasons I watch Hoonigan content!
Omg I hope you get Hert that pass to Pebble Beach. That would be amazing.
Hert is such a cool dude
The big gulp story is the best story I've ever heard on KZread. Hert needs to be on VinWiki at some point.
Since you've had the hoonigan boys I think it's only right you get Cletus on there
Your Lexus experience reminds me of rolling my ‘94 Infiniti G20 into the dealer in the mid to late-2000s. They treated me like a king. Loaner, coffee, the whole deal.
Wish I’d watched this sooner, I’ve always struggled with being a “car guy”, I like cars, I respect cars, but I LOVE driving cars!
This was soo awesome. Hert is the best!
Been waiting a long long time for this one to happen, very nice
"So it started raining" lol perfect
in early 1990 my best friend bought an AE86 coupe with 138000 miles on it. He hadn't been into cars and didnt realize what it was. I told him it was a badass lil car. One of the best donut cars ever. Later in 1990 I bought my 1st AW11 MR2. We had a blast with those 2 cars in our early 20s
This is going to be a good 1.
Herts the best man, dude deserves all he’s got and more
I dunno if it's a hidden jem or not, but the Lexus dealer in San Marcos is honestly the nicest dealership I've ever been to. They have 2 "zero" mile LFAs in the showroom and it's just a wonderful place. Everyone was nice as well.

What an excellent convo. Hert seems like my kind of chill.
The loaner cars for Lexus should be first gen LS400s in mint shape to show how good they build stuff
Please get Hert back for another podcast! So dope hearing his story!! Would also be really dope to hear a Podcast with TJ Hunt!

This was sick asf ! Big ups to TST and Hert
Jesus!!, I just threw this on to jump in the shower. My entire shower I listened to a Martha Stewart commercial, something else and the ticket app. Great shower 🤷🏼♂️
Matt my boy you must acquire Mr. Jimmy Oakes and get him in for an episode!
@18:32 I work at a grocery store that has that dead rat smell and it is horrific. Whenever we get new hires they come in the grocery back room and sniff a bit and ask, "Wtf is that smell? What is that?" and I'm like, "Dead rat. That is the smell of dead rat. Near the freezer, it's dead, frozen and then thawed rat. You get used to it... sort of." Matt's right, once you smell it, you can detect it anywhere and it's one of those things you wish you didn't know, ignorance is bliss and all that.
I don’t follow hooligan but loved the series they did on the baja bug. It was siccck. They have had a lot of other cool cars on there too. This dudes got a lot of experience and knowledge. Not just a adrenaline junky. He speaks like a true gear head. Five broke down cars. Jaaa. Same here.
Hert is such a rad dude, loved to hear his opinions and story

@57:35 I agree with Hert, I got a cheaper BMW and I daily it, take it to the nurburgring/hockenheimring and just beat on it. I have loads of fun in a good car rather than going for super expensive cars that I would never want to wreck or break.

1:21:25 some people just wanna be people without the qualifiers. My brown skin is significant, but I don’t care to be called “Black" in a "White" world, especially non-consensually. We’ll never live a post-racial society if we keep reinforcing race to identify people.
Damn i laughed at the "got a flat, need to change the hole thing..." I'm doing it right now... 900 for 2 tires or 8500 for the new setup. Of course i went for the setup 🤣😝
