He is an actor ..... and its a made up story so he was just doing his job. Seriously 95% percent of stories celebrities tell on publicity junkets for movies are made up and simply to draw attention to the movie. His flawless delivery of the story is not an accident - it was rehearsed probably more thoroughly then his lines for the movie.

He is a great storyteller.

Russel Crowe could read the ingredients of a cereal box and people would listen. The man can hold a room.

Just look at Henry when Russell's telling the story. He looks so proud and nostalgic it makes my heart swell with feels X3

Russell Crowe is so charismatic ! From the moment he opens his mouth everybody shuts up and listens to him

You can verify this, but Russell Crow has done this for more than just the two kids in the story, Russell Crowe once saw a small boy try to skateboard but he wasn't too good at it, and he looked discouraged, and apparently on a walk while taking a break from his shoot he saw this happen, the kid was trying to do it for hours and by the end he was almost in tears, Russell walked up to the kid and told him "The time you spend working hard today, will make you so skilled that when you work it will look like you are hardly working." That kid grew up to be Tony Hawk!

it's a small world after all :) oh and I really love the look on Henry's eyes while Russell Crowe was telling the story...

Crowe is a great story teller. In the beginning, all we know about the advice is that it was truthful and then it's revealed at the end XD

You know this story was made up right ? Its a story for the publicity tour to give them something to talk about on TV shows. Its not actually real :)

Crowe's a great story teller. I've heard him (and Cavill) tell this story many times, and each times he's added something to it to make it a little more awesome. This is the first time he mentioned the other kid, Merlin, and what he went on to do.

Russell is such a gent. Sending something with words of wisdom to a boy you only met once in passing. What a great guy. Crazy story. What are the odds? I'd guess that he probably quietly did many amazing things for people that no one will ever know about

Russell Crowe is such a gentleman, you can see how much Henry looks up to him. Charming story!

I mean my friends called me fat but it was not in a teasing way. You kind of know when its in a negative way. And i was infact FAT so..

That’s just crazy; funny how real-life sometimes is stranger than art. It also goes to show how just a small word of encouragement from someone at the top can change someone’s destiny, not only for Cavill’s but the other kid he mentions too.

This story and hugh jackman remembering his gym student must be so cool for the recipients ! I think there might be a few others....

This is why "The Graham Norton Show" is the best talk show.

I love that it came full circle. They would both be casted in Superman and they would work together.

So a young boy decides to join the army and later becomes a security officer back home afterwards all because Russell Crowe gave him a photo from one of his best movies with words of encouragement on it. True heroes will always be those who humbly show kindness and inspire others to be the best, especially when they don’t even know what it will lead to. 7 years ago, I was walking on a beach to see a piping plover nesting sight when I met two other men doing the same to photograph it. We all talked for a while and by the time we parted ways they told me they were retired navy veterans. That thought stuck with me all day and 5 years later, after careful planning, I joined the Navy. It was all because I was inspired by 2 bird photographers who didn’t know what they created. Thank You!!!

Yeah man, it's easy going and not in your face. Graham has a great Irish wit too. I think the celebs enjoy it as well.
