Suddenly this kid around my age is in front of my and does a little jump and starts rolling on his shoes. I was absolutely blown away and in complete awe. I would frequent their website awaiting the day they started making size 13... and surprisingly to me this happened around 2020. Needless to say, I bought a pair immediately and have them to this day. I don't wear them often but they are a godsend for trips to amusement parks, malls, airports, or anywhere else with long flat surfaces. They are definitely uncomfortable to walk in over long periods of time but if you are spending a long time walking in them you are using them wrong.

I can't speak to any other things he has cut in half. But I can speak to Heeleys. His assessment of the quality of them is off. He is looking at a shoe made in 2023 that was popular in 2005--2011 or so. The quality of the shoes at that time was 100x higher than they are now. I wore mine for 2 years before putting them up for my combat boots. They still worked like new, looked mostly new and were good shoes. The ones he showed here were none of those things. We also didn't have lights back then.

I never had any issues the plastic part that holds the wheel wearing out. The wheel always took a lot of force to pop in/out. If the wheel bearings seize up, the axle won't spin in the plastic wheel holder. The wheel simply won't roll at all.

So a couple of corrections based on experience: firstly, you didn't *need* the tool or the cap. I got pretty good at popping the wheels out by hand by prying at them from one side using a thumb, and I just never bothered with the caps. It was only a problem in the winter since the cavity would get hard packed with snow and be very slippery indoors. I actually just left the wheels I'm most of the time during the warmer months. I just learned to walk with the side of my heel making contact with the ground first instead of the wheel. Second: the plastic retainer for the axel never wore out during my time with the shoes. Like I said, I could get the wheels out by hand, but it never got any easier to do as time went on lol. Also, while I guess it's possible that the axle could get completely seized and spin in the plastic, you'd never be able to use them enough to do any damage. Any amount of water getting into the bearings would cause them to rust, and while the wheels would still rotate by hand, if you tried to actually ride on them when they were rusty, you'd stop rolling in just a couple feet. In other words, unusable. I learned how to use split ring pliers at a young age simply because I was constantly taking the wheels apart to clean and lube them up so I could keep riding them. Ultimately, I think I only stopped using them either because I outgrew them, or more likely I lost one of the wheels haha

I still have my old pair from the late 2000s, I don't use them anymore but they're still mostly good, except the worn down heels of both soles, but they survived the few years of abuse I put into them, general travel and skate parks, and I could still probably just chuck them on now and go rolling around the streets without issue. Their quality is so much better then the ones you've showed off. They still used fake leather and plastic but a lot less flimsy materials and over all they're a more rigid shoe.
