    Wow, 5,000 subscribers. It's hard to believe that number was only sixty when I uploaded that last video just a month ago. The reason I started making these videos is because it was the kind of content that I wanted to see, but no one was making. After making four of these I've since realized why no one was making them. It's a lot of effort. Between playing the run, editing, and doing the voiceovers, it takes weeks. This video alone took over 80 hours total to complete, so I hope it's not too uncouth to ask for your support. If you like what I do, consider donating to my Patreon. www.patreon.com/Zyllius

    In these types of games though having free power and that power be plentiful kind of sucks balance wise. Solar can be both because it can only be used part of the day but wind has no such concession. Only thing you can really do is make it rely on wind but that'd probably be random and people would hate that. So reduce the power output it is.

    Don't know anything about 40k lore, but do know a bit about latin. The actual pronunciation would be somewhere in-between, especially when you take into account its Greek origins. Something along the lines of "meh-cahn-ih-coos". Basically the same as English but with a longer vowel in the last syllable, probably a bit closer to the sound in the German "haus". I think the IPA for that would be something like "mɛkɐnɪkʊs", but I don't really know IPA all that well so that might be wrong.

    6:40 fun fact: most loader mods (I think including krastorio 2) don't use the vanilla loader and instead use a very fast inserter, because somehow that performs better than the vanilla loader. This is also why it's only 1 block tall instead of 2.

    Krastorio 2, the mod I had most fun in, not too hard and not too easy. Felt perfect for me, the way they handle inserter being built by 2 common parts instead of having to make every single inserter at another spot is just lovely. I do remember having to have massive areas just to produce wood and atmospheric for the other stuff it produce. Also sand, my god did I need a lot of it to supply my base, by the end of it I most likely made enough sand to make a massive desert area.

    @@jamzee_ Its more about actually building the next thing, because trying to catch up to military science at late game is gonna be hard when enemies are tanking everything you currently throwing at them. But overall most recipes add 1 or 2 more items needed. Since you don't leave the planet you don't have to worry about building an entire new base in outer space like in Space exploration mod. The turrets you get late game really hit hard and shoot very far. So defending once you have them become very easy. Getting the other ores doesn't require much planning either. Power supply wasn't much of an issue for me late game either, Solar power could easily cover the entire consumption on the base. So for me it add a bit more challenge while not making every recipe super hard to make or have an insane upkeep.

    I've launched a few rockets in my time, and I wouldn't call myself a beginner, but watching videos like this is humbling. The thought, the detail, the sheer bigness of it all. Its amazing.

    Loving the videos, they've got me back into playing both Factorio and Dyson Sphere Program which I heavily reccomend and would love to see you play because its 3d element leads to some completely insane setups that have led to me building a 3x3 conveyor bus that I'm probably gonna have to make even taller by the end of it.

  • @callummccleave5843

    @callummccleave5843

    Well technichally 3x3xlength of bus. Basically a 3 wide row of conveyors since thats how far inserters can reach that then has another two rows of three on top of it, whenever I need something from the upper parts I have an inserter take it off and then place it onto a spiral conveyor that brings in to the ground for my assemblers. I really wish the game had more planetary logistics than conveyors and really simple drones, maybe theres a mod for that but for the time being the triple decker bus is serving me well.

    Be prepared for long games. My games typically last 2-3 days until I get the rocket launched and consider that game done. That's 2-3 days of play-time, spread over a week or two of real time.

    The Biolab is underrated. If you're running the Ruins mod, plus its Krastorio expansion, you can actually get a very small amount of creep just by exploring, without having to fight. If you, like me, love exploring but hate fighting, you can eventually explore enough to get the creep needed for your first biolab, and play a whole game without having to fight!

    In 40k everything is in high gothic in terms of official stuff which would be like if sims spoke vaguely in Latin. Low gothic is how the mass majority of the trillions upon trillions in the imperium speak and its the language in which everything is conveyed in a way we understand. English is basically low gothic. In low gothic it would just be Mechanicus or "Admech" or "Cog-faced assholes who won't stop lubricating things and start repairing the damned basilisk" Also the mechanicus don't even really speak gothic much, at least not to each other. They speak in "binaric". If you played the mechanicus game (very good btw, like 40k meets xcom) you'd get a vague understanding as to how they sound.
