Don' take the "Dork" part seriously! That's just tough love. Also: Hans's Percussive tone definitely evolved and changed throughout the various films he scored. This example specifically is from Pirates of the Caribbean, but if it gets enough attention I might do a part 2 with another score from the man.

I like how this guy uses the pirates of the caribbean theme for literally every example. This theme really is a masterpiece.
"otherwise you just wasted 5 minutes of your live, bye bye" - I don't think anything else has ever motivated me quite like this. Brb. I got some epic percussion to write.

Over the past few days, I struggled to write a good percussion line. It felt lifeless, dull and synthetic. I thought, maybe Alex has a tutorial on percussion, then I watched this video. Today, I rewrote all my percussion following what you said and the improvement is massive! I'm amazed that such simple tricks can make an enormous difference like that. So I just want to say thank you for making this video and for sharing this gold-rated knowledge :D !
Hi Alex, My name is Antonio and we met in a Subway station in London (I was playing the piano). I said I'd leave you a comment and here it is! I like your videos, a lot of cool music!

Yo dude! Welcome to the channel. :D Eager to hear your compositions man!
"Chaos in the right way". Amazing!
dude, 3 words: you are awesome. Best tutorials ever in this subject. Short, powerfull and clear. Love this!
Bro you’re the only person on KZread that puts out great educational orchestra videos!!
This is really helpful in learning how to write huge epic percussion parts. I now understand why it's important to use mid and high pitched percussion in addition to low pitched percussion. Using all three types provides a wider frequency spectrum. I'll be applying what you said in this video.
This is very informative man... I always struggle with percussions... Thank you Alex... You do a great Job.... All the best man
Awesome tutorial. This is super inspiring - will work on applying these lessons.
Brilliant analysis. Clear, concise explanations. Stunningly well done video, thank you for this.
This is surely the BEST percussion tutorial in 5 minutes !! You make it look easy :D
Holy S***! Best "no bull" video on percussion I've seen in a while. Straight down to buisness and rock solid info!! SUBSCRIBED!
As always Alex, fantastic video!
Thanks Alex!Great video man!!!

Hey Alex, I'm glad that you're in my 2019, Thank you thank you thank you so much
Thank you for your videos!
I absolutely love your attitude. :) You're spot on, as usual, and your delivery remains the plain, pure, unapologetic truth. :)
"You're a dork" classic
this video came right as I'm working on the next Pixel Mixers track :P thanks bro! I love percussion like this
Immediately went to apply this to my own arrangement that I'm working on. Especially fun after picking up 8dio's epic perc libraries during a flash sale.
Thank you! Love from Brazil
My dude, thank you- being reminded of the purpose of cymbals helped me see through the wall I made out of all my bass
Great tips on filling up the high register of the percussion orchestra ❤
You are just super awesome man!!!
Great Video!

BEST.

Thanks.... It's so useful... Can u make a tutorial of mixing and mastering of this.... It will be very helpful.. Thanks.. ☺☺
lol I was just looking for what those really loud and epic cinematic drums that sound kinda like really echoey reverby low low toms with a bit of high enoo idk how to describe it to help with my pirates of the caribbean arrangement but this was even more helpful
The skill talk at the beginning is very true. I made a very basic synth arpeggio with a very basic synth in 3x osc. Yet somehow it doesn’t sound like I only changed the wave shape in the full mix.
Great tutorial, Alex! Which library used you for the Epic Dhols?

Rhapsody Orchestral Percussion.
Another useful video Alex! Straight to the point! Dissecting the percussion like this is really helpful. Sometimes I try to recreate the percussion by ear, but it's difficult. This does help! Anothe question: what do you use to record your videos? And especially your audio from your DAW? I use OBS to record my Cubase projects, but I really don't like the quality, even though I set it to max. Thanks for the vid!
@AlexMoukala

I use Xsplit for tutorials, or OBS when I stream sometimes. Never had huge issues with its quality though.
Well, he's probably talking about some very interesting things.
Just found your channel. Fucking awesome. You’re a composition and FL wizard.
Not gonna lie, I was really hoping to see some shots of taiko being recorded because of the thumbnail and was disappointed since I play taiko but did still enjoy what you talked about here especially since I'm making the move into music making.
Hi Alex, could you make a video talk about how make music to match the que point of video?
Hi Alex, for layering percussions, do you need several libraries, or can you layer with the same library, say Damage, and layer in the MIDI editor with different section of the ensemble all in one patch, and add Damage cymbals in another patch?
So far did one..it sucks i assume thats why you said do ten I might need twenty we shall see! thank you for another great tutorial!

Brother, i gotta say lately ive been watching a lot of your videos. But I notice one thing that you need to think about - and that is to slow down when you talk. Sometimes i really cant figure out what you're saying cause youre talking so fast. But either way, thank you so much for these tutorials, they've taught me a lot so far, keep it up!

Where can I find these sounds
i use ableton 10 and im new to composing, would anyone recommend a good library for orchestral sounds?
Please please pleeeease someone tell me what kind of drum is it the mentions as the accents ( from 01:43 )?
Alex from where did you get those nice Taiko rolls and whoosh hits?
Hey Alex! Are you still doing viewers tracks reviews?
I got your ad on your video, touche
Where can I find more links for drummer of muse. 5:20
I have recently bought UVI Orchestral Suite. Do you have a tutorial to achieve this brass sound with that plugin? I find it very difficult. Don’t know if that plugin is not good enough tho
"it has a lot of drive, it has a lot of power" this dude predicted the Rock's song
Which plugins?
oh man i'm not a native english speaker and i had to turn on the subtitles to understand some things. i would really love having a longer video than a rushed 5 minute video because your information its really nice, but i don't get it completely sometimes.
What are the names of the drums used in the song?
Can you please make a live stream of wonder women 1984 "The Amazon" track full
