As an Atlético supporter it will be impossible to forget him. Like a toxic relationship he's made me feel every emotion that exists. He is one of the greatest players to ever play for Atleti. He should be our top scorer, but he probably won't ever be. He should be our greatest ever player, but he we never will be. Impossible to forget, but impossible to love unconditionally. I don't know who will remember Griezmann in 20 years, but I know that in 40 I will.

Don't know why, but this comment touched me. He can still become your top scorer. He just doesn't play as a striker anymore. I am sure with time he will improve his finishing. He was scoring goals right before WC. I am still sad about what could have been had he not left. Atletico would have had a shot at UCL with Suarez and Prime griezmann duo had he not left. I was born in France and I live in France today. And no matter the scandals and controversies at his clubs, especially Atletico, in France he was known as the greatest to ever do it, in a squad with Pogba, Giroud, Mbappé, Lloris, Kimpembe… and no one could stop talking about him. An entire nation fell in love with the guy. He was so versatile, you could put him anywhere besides on defence and he’d shine. Maybe he made mistakes, and was reckless, but he was France’s golden boy, and that’s a big honour.

As a middle aged french man, this man is second only to the peerless Zidane in term of impact on the french national team during my life time. An absolut RR of a player. Emerged just as the team had been in complete disaray since ZZ´s retirement, on and off the pitch. A breath of fresh air after the Riberys, Gallas, Benzemas and Nasris shitting the bed for years and years. And all the talent to back it up and crucially all the team ethic and football IQ you could ever hope to see in any player, let along your star striker. Just like Zidane, he makes everyone around him better. Absolutely the most important player along with Kante in 2018 and despite Kylan´s amazing final, our best player in Qatar by a country mile. Griezmann has been my favorite player since 2016, luckily I started watching him right when he started winning, from performing at the top at euros to winning Europa league and the world cup. The barca transfer seemed the final stage of his peak, one of the best clubs in the world to show your talent. But after his transfer everything went quite, I thought it was over and that he would be remembered as one of those what could have been big money transfers. I was so happy to see him perform and get his praise this world cup and now he is playing well at athletico , I just hope he finishes his career where he is playing well and with the fans on his side.

@@Sunfall71 mbappe literally ghosted two matches prior to the finals. Two penalties and a goal won't take that away.

He would definitely be never forgotten by France or Atletico. Isn't he the only one in Atletico who came close to winning Ballon twice? And he was the engine for France this WC till the finals and the only one at least trying to do something till the 70th minute. I knew going in that they would completely neutralize Griezmann since he was France's main link from defense to attack. And I still don't think he should have been subbed out because that guy knows how to set up a player to score, and that would have been a clutch during the final minutes. It's like just like France vs. Switzerland, when Deschamps subbed out Griezmann , which led to Switzerland scoring one more goal and tying the game.

Well, he is now Atleti's top scorer and look at what a season he is having, he probably already is their best player as well. He will be remembered for years to come.

He won't ever be forgotten. I'm not a fan but I remember those golden years when alt madrid vs Real Madrid 2014-16 he was a machine.

@Levis H Bruh Griezmann JUST reinvented himself to a midfielder, and he held that midfield till the finals this WC. Not to mention, he has spent the majority of his career either playing for Assletico or playing for Barca when they were at their lowest point. He also played out of his position there and still managed to pull in decent stats. His biggest mistake was not moving to PL sooner.

Atletico Madrid will never say he ruined the club. This man carried that club for a very long time goal scoring wise, link up wise, defensively and play making all his world class attributes. He made that club so much revenue to due this great run with them and huge sale of over $130m total. The saddening thing for him during his career was that he never had a consistent No.9 around him who scores goals again consistently of over 20g's like him a season. He's also unlucky when it comes to changing clubs as the clubs he left wins the league. Barcelona also looks poised to win this season. Hope not, as that will be suck for major Griezmann.

I'm not an Atletico, Barca, or France supporter, but I'll always remember Griezmann and his pure class on the pitch. I'll also remember him finishing 3rd in Balon d'Or voting twice in 2016 and 2018, meaning he was seen as the 3rd best player in the world at those times.

I find this from Atleti fans very annoying. Players want to win trophies so it's natural for them to aim higher and better teams. @@stain4128 Given the accusations against the scout I think it's fairly obvious Griezmann simply has a lot of shame or has mentally blocked it all out. Either way, for him to accomplish what he has in the sport shows incredible mental strength.

I think a redemption video is needed now that he's atletico all time top scorer and arguably one of la ligas best players over the oast couple of seasons.

I remember having a Griezmann jersey. I loved him when I was much younger. He was my idol. But now I barely hear of him. He's just there. But people still love him

No matter who says what, ultimately he’ll never be the same in Atleti fans’ eyes and history. His move to Barca and how he went about it considering 12 months earlier he spoke how he’s looking forward to many more years after deciding to stay, it was a real betrayal also choosing to come back to Atleti because it was a disaster at Barca it’s a shame, Atleti even won the league without him

He will be forever remembered for winning that world cup, even though he didn't play much. I was in Argentina during it, and you could tell they are gonna remember everyone, no matter what, they already are legends.

He carried France this world cup.. he wins retrievs like 70% of the balls and he does it high, then serves sandwiches to Mbappe who missed most of the clear cut chances. Without Griezmann they would've given up a lot more goals and scored barely any

To be fair Barcelona kinda ruined him I've always liked him as a player though.

I remember, probably around 2014-15, there were three young players who were let's say, 'being the centre' of the team, one was Kevin de Bruyne, of Wolfsburg, one was Thorgan Hazard, of 'Gladbach, and the other one was Griezmann, of Atletico Madrid. Now, they are 'not so young' anymore, but they all had interesting career trajectories in their own way.

Griezmann (and the French National Team as a whole) underperformed in the 2022 WC Final because of Deschamps. His poor tactics almost made it the most embarrasing final of all time. He's lucky Mbappe made the final respectable.

He's the main reason and i hate France for winning another world cup but he won the world cup for France in 2018. A real football fan, will never forget him. The masses will, but we true to the sport won't. Ronaldo (El Fenomeno), Griezmann, Totti and Buffon may not have Champions League medal, but they have World Cup on them

Many thanks for this beautiful video of my idol. I caught his eye in 2016 during the European Championships when he became a player in the tournament. I've watched every game he played since then. I was there when he rose and looked forward to every game. Many said he dug his own grave when he decided to move to Barcelona in 2019. But the grave had long been prepared when he got there. From the beginning he had no chance there. He made his biggest mistake with the move, but I hope he can have a happy time in madrid until the end of his career. he deserves it...

Griezmann will be remembered as one of the less prominent third wheels in the Messi Ronaldo rivalry along with Lewandowski, Modric, Muller, Ramos, and Suarez. He is not as prolific as Neymar, Mbappe, Benzema, Iniesta, Xavi, or Aguero, but also not as underwhelming as Bale, Kane, or Dybala. If you consider just the national team performances, he is among the top 5 of the generation easily (in my view, as of now he is only behind Messi).

2015-2016 was supposed to be griezmann's season. Lost the league by just 1-2 wins, lost ucl to an offside goal, and lost the Euros to last-minute goal. He would have definitely been more profilic if he won those since he would have most likely won a Ballon if he won just the UCL. In terms of international career, he is only an Euros away from winning everything for his country and he should definitely be remembered as one of the legends for France. He was one of the keys to France success over the past tournaments.

Top 2. Griezi with Messi.

Even as real Madrid fan it's very difficult to say that Griezmann, the only mistake he made was going to Barcelona, thank God he came back to Mend his relationship with Atletico Madrid, he is a legend by all means and respect

He should never be forgotten

Now is he the best player in the spanish league. He just needs a good striker beside him to make his goal scoring and assist number even better. If Atleti sign Vlahovic for example, Griezmann would get +30 goal interventions between goals and assists in a season for sure. He still has it.
