I am awestruck at how many times I have heard Noteworthy’s arrangement of this beautiful hymn, yet each time it feels like there is a new surprise that lifts it higher and higher. This is stunning!

I'm Catholic, and today on Resurrection Sunday, thanks to COVID-19, I can't be in my church praising God and thanking him for the great gift of salvation because all of the churches in my area have been forced to close. It breaks my heart to see this. I sat here and listened to this amazing song and your beautiful voices this morning and cried my eyes out. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world. I've been listening to this beautiful version of the great classic for the past several months. Every time I listen to this, I'm overwhelmed by the absolute power and gentleness that God displays through the voices of these artists. In a way, it reminds me of the Magnicant and Mary singing her joy to God

As I said above, I do love my daughter and her companion right here and right now. We have a wonderful relationship. I want her to have so much of the peace and joy only the Lord provides as we follow Him keeping His commandments. I realize I cannot force that on her. She has to come to that decision on her own. In the meantime, I do not hold my love for her hostage because of her choices.

This song was sung at my Grandfather, Grandmother and Father's funerals. It is one of my favorite hymns, though I am not religious, it still just touches me so much. Seeing it now, seeing it as Courtney singing it to Rachelle, and realizing that this was, once again, sung at a funeral. Thinking of the loss and suffering they are enduring for their belief in the church. I cannot conceptualize a loving deity who would want them to rend their marriage for a plan of salvation that has no place for them unless they are willing to enter into a relationship they do not truly want. Love is so precious, so beautiful. And I know you both still love each other and are in each others lives, and I'm happy to hear that. But I'm not going to lie. My heart cried for you watching your video. It literally broke, and while you are bound by LDS stricture to say that it has made you happier, and that this was the right move, I am not so bound, and I can say my heart aches for what you have endured. Your lives, of course, are yours. If this is TRULY what makes you both happier, I am bound by my stricture to be happy for you. But I will not pretend to understand it. And I will say that I KNOW this caused you both tremendous pain as well, and for that my heart aches for you. This rendition of the song touched me and ripped tears from me, just like it did at the funerals of my beloved family members. And in ways for similar reasons.

Courtney was a member of Noteworthy at BYU, Rachelle went to Oregon and they met at a musical competition and the rest of their story unfolded. Courtney and the other Noteworthy alumni dedicated that song to Rachelle's baptism.
