@Philip Jubert Gonzales Nope. aldridge signed with spurs to be the main man because tim duncan was retiring soon and he was expected to fill the position when duncan leaves. kawhi was not yet an elite player that time. but then kawhi unexpectedly became an elite superstar each year that aldridge's touches became less and the offense was now centered in kawhi. remember aldridge requested to be traded on 2017 summer complaining lack of touches but then Pop didnt want to trade him.

As a lifelong Spurs fan, having LA was a bit bittersweet because he was very inconsistent with us. One night he wants to put up 30 pts and the next he's a lack luster 12. Also in the last couple seasons it really seemed like he had just checked out on us. That being said, I'm sorry he didn't get to play a couple more seasons because he definitely could have minus the heart condition. Even more importantly, I'm sorry he didn't get to finish the season with Brooklyn because I think He probably would've gotten his ring. Anyway, health first, he stays healthy and lives a long life.

Definitely one of the most effective bigman in the NBA during his prime. I mean he was an All-Star but he was never a superstar simply because he doesn't have that changing of the game type of playstyle just like what you said Andy. If he started his career today, I think he might start develop the other aspects from his game that were missing when he first started.

That's crazy gonna miss him I remember years and years when he played for the blazers my friends father got courtside seats through his company and it was an amazing game vs the Lakers, though my favorite moment of that game was when the ball went out of bounds right to me and I got to hand it back to Aldridge even me at 6'2 I felt so small XDD. oh sweet memories I was smiling ear to ear the rest of that game

he is on the all star level, he is also steps away to be a superstar if he managed to get past the 1st round and made it to the conference finals. im a fan of his' low post game, its like watching rasheed wallace when doing the fade away from the low post, i wish he could've won a ring b4 retiring.

LaMarcus was a very good basketball player. His basketball fundamentals were very well developed, and even though he had a robust frame, he was a finesse player. He always seemed like an introvert, and it might have had something to do with his health now that I think about it. Anyways, he did what he loved to do, and got paid very good money doing it. The only thing missing was the title. Well, there are quite a few very good players (Some are even HOF-ers) that finished their careers without a title so no big deal. It was a wise decision on his part to retire given his heart condition.

What goes unmentioned is how well he ran the floor on the break. He was fast and a huge target for passes. The announcer in the Moda Center used to yell “L-train!” when he dunked on the break and if you saw you’d understand, he was big, fast and ran in a straight line to the basket. Anyway, one of my favorite Blazers.
