Disagree at 50 it's a buy for me

Speaking of knob creek it might be fun to do a ranking of all their stuff. I see a lot of different preferences from people between the 12, 15, and 18 that I don't think it would be an easy ranking. The store picks are good too, especially for the value.

I really find that the HH BiB gets better after being open for a little while. After its breathed for a couple of weeks, its one of my favorites.

I agree, first time I got a bottle I didn't really like it at all, just seemed so thin. After about a week I came back to it and it was so much better, really surprised me.

Delighted you guys did this BiB Battle. I'd love to see round 2. Keep the KC-9 and add in EHT, 1792 BiB, OF BiB and either New Riff or Bardstown BiB to round it out.

I am happy about this outcome. Knob Creek 9yr is my everyday house bourbon. Always able to get a 1.75ml for $49 at my Costco. It’s great neat and in an old fashion. But I am surprised that the heaven hill didn’t do better

Man... this is such a wild realization for me lol.

Finally got HH BiB here and just popped it and for what it is, it’s so good. Nice roasted vanilla and leaves some spice. But that KC 9 I’ve always got the 120p non store pick. But that by far has to be a favorite shelf find for me. It’s fantastic.

I will have to revisit my 100 proof bottles but the last time I did a blind New Riff Bib came in first. Followed by Ben Holladay Bib, Early Times Bib and Knob Creek

Recently added New Riff malted rye and single barrel and Holladay bib & soft red wheat. All are really dang good too!

I’m not surprised Knob Creek was up there in ranking. It’s just good, plain and simple. Absolutely solid. It’s always in my liquor cabinet.

Knob Creek 9 is pretty much the best $35ish bourbon I've had. I see big price swings these days though, big stores selling it for $46 and my main liquor shop for $28.

I like that you really hit on what we are all thinking. I started out my bourbon collection hunting unicorns.....with some BIG disappointments. I really like the reasonable price bourbons that just deliver. Your reviews always hit it outta the park. Keep it up!

Knob creek is probably one of the best sub $40 pours.

KC9 crushed it. thanks for playing. Love these. I have 9 in my red velvet lined cabinet in my 1950's home. Original homeowner built my man cave. I love it and sipping fine low end liquors from the liquor cabinet. Cheers. This house was just about un-touched. We bought it from the daughter of the original owner. Just 8 years ago. She grew up in this house. I cherish these moments. I'm at a desk that he made in this cave of dark stained awesomeness. Makes it taste that much better.

I just paid $23 for Knob 9 at Costco last week, best bang for my buck so far.

This makes me happy KC 9 is my everyday.

On my second bottle of HH BiB and i have to say i really like it compared to my normal sippers.. 50$ is a lot though.

Got a bottle of HH BiB yesterday after seeing Dan drool over it last week. It was underwhelming to be kind. Knob Creek single barrels are the s**t. You guys are the best 👍

I really enjoy KC 12yr, but the 9yr is such a great value! You can pick up a 1.75L at Total Wine for $50. That's cheaper than the 750mL of HH 7yr BiB.

I’m gonna have to try them side by side, but so far, HH 7 yr BIB is beating out almost everything I have (beating Blanton’s, Eagle Rare, Rare Breed)…at a tie with Old Ezra 7 Yr (actually very similar…I guess makes sense since I think OE is also HH) and Makers Cask for me. I love Knob Creek but it’s never beaten out everything HH BIB is for me. Must just be my flavor profile but the HH is SO FLAVORFUL. I am shocked with how it performed here.

I got a bottle the other day for $49.99 because it was the first time I saw it on the shelf… worth a shot to see if it jives with my palate. Some of these bottles benefit from being opened and sitting for an indeterminate period before being revisited… perhaps they open up and transform into something different.

Costco in San Diego has that HH BinB for $34. Great at that price!

Love how they hyped it on their revisit to only see it get beat by some common shelfers (KC and JD Bonded)

The two I've have from this lineup are Heaven Hill BiB- disappointed. And Knob Creek 9. If I find a KC 9 year at 120 proof, I buy it!

Drinking Knob Creek 12 year watching this. I usually drink 1792 Bottled in Bond Single Barrel but ran out. Looks like my taste isn't far off.

Looking forward to seeing the tags at Total Wine saying how the Junkies love Chestnut Farms

KC is my daily and I can’t see anything knocking out. 9 years old, 100 proof and damn delicious.

Love KC9! I see it at Costco here in Seattle for $22 routinely. There is always at least one bottle in my cabinet. I have been passing on Heaven Hill the last four time I went to Costco. I have heard good things, but something has held me back each time.

You should try it. I finally got the Heaven Hill and it is incredible.

It's good stuff, and I'm glad that it is easier to find nowadays,... but honestly, I'm not sure why it was ever so hard to find to begin with. It's good, but for $50, there are plenty of bottles out there just as good, and better.

Please make a round 2 of the BiB battle.

Bardstown Origin BiB would have been good to put here. I know it's a bit harder to find but not nearly in the realm of an EHT

The HH BiB is very medicore and agree that EHT would run the table easily- though I haven't seen that Jack BiB yet and I'm definitely a Jack guy (JDSBBP is king).

I think you should have just done a bottle in bond lineup. I would have included E.H. Taylor small batch. New Riff small batch. Early times BIB. Just to name a few. Not surprised Knobb creek ended last. I have both the 9, and 12. It's just ok. I'm just not a Jim Beam fan. I haven't found any of it as of yet to get me excited.

Any time KC9 is in a blind, it does well. Yet people are still surprised by this. Can we all just agree it’s darn good?

Everyone sleeps on KC because it's relatively cheap and can be found everywhere but its good!

Knob Creek 9yr all the way, my favorite.

Just had a blind between the three of those I have.... HHbib, KC9 and the JDbonded...... HH was easily first, the KC was a close second over Bonded.... wish I had the other two.... they were all good. HH was clearly better though.

All I know is that HH BIB is a really good deal at the Costco price of $42.50 several times a year.

Sweet. Money is staying in my pocket. 😄

I'm really confused how they went from calling Chestnut Farms a nice well pour. Saying they hoped it wasn't the Chestnut Farms when they were talking about it on the taste and then out of no where when they come back they both put it top. Never would have gussed it would be their #1 the way they were talking about it.

HH BIB is $42.99 on occasion at Costco here in Indy, and even that's pushing it for me. I'm a hard pass at $50+. Just too many good bottles for less cash. Cheers!

Is there even a difference in JD bonded and BIB? I think the BIB is only the 1l BOOTLE airport / duty free version. Got a bottle of the BIB two weeks ago and it’s surprisingly good.

The bottled in bond (travel one) is jack no. 7 at 100 proof (we were told this by Chris Fletcher at Jack Daniels). The bonded is different.

My Costco has the HH for 39.99 Worth it at that price? It’s also has a bunch of Henry McKEnNa 10 year for 55.99

As someone who worked for total wine…I’d like to say get ABSOLUTELY OWNED chestnut farms IS DEFINITELY overpriced but those talking about how the whiskey is bad has certainly never tried it..

The JD Bonds are good, and so is the HH. But that KC is a sleeper. So good and such little respect.

Perhaps JD made BiB "smokey" to be more appealing to a global market.

I haven't tried a HH BIB for a year or so. I can't figure out why people chase it. It's simple, thin and monotone in profile. Russell's Reserve 10 year kicks the shit out of it for almost half the price.

I'm actually not happy HH BiB came in last, not because I think it's fantastic, but because I regret every dollar I spent on it, and want the hype to stay high for my own selfish reasons. Seriously... why is that crap at $50?! I'm a MASSIVE HH fan, and they make multiple BiB that are cheaper. Multiple. I've never been more disappointed in a bottle.
