For starters a QB is only as good as the linemen blocking for him. If you look at our oline on tape at the end of last yr,we had one of the best lines in the league.When we were running on people Zeus was blowing it up ave.120+ a game,the only way he could do that is hat on hat,physical, no missed blocks.Our line is going to be even better this yr,this QB can throw,he is smart,and he is a leader! If he stays healthy and we block,with all the weapons around him I expect him to have a monster of a yr. Everybody wants a lamar,but most of the QB's that have won SBS have been like AO,all these qbs had there head on a swizival, move to the left or right,scramble alittle so they don't get sacked.He is going to be just fine !

Did you see the 6 sacks he took from Khalil Mack? Did you see the game where he didn’t complete a pass for 3 consecutive quarters? Did you see the late and high throws? Did you see the over thrown balls? No one is asking for a running qb we’re asking for a mobile qb who CAN run and extend like the top qbs in the league (pm, Jh, jb, ja, bp, TT, jl) to name a few.

He earned the start last year in the middle of chaos

Really hope AOC balls out this year. Thrown into a tough situation last year and stood up, took the hits, ignores the negativity and very down to earth. Lotsof people setting the bar at Mahones level, which is ridiculous. Look at the QB positions around the league, Watson and Laurance getting huge money for "potential", Fields, Z Wilson, Jones considered busts, people talking about getting rid of Dak, replacing him with who??. Purdy still trying to get respect outside of San Fran. People need to step back a bit and let players and teams develop. They go on about us missing on a QB in the draft, no guarantee that any of the top 6 guys this year will become superstars. Raider Nation needs to get fully behind whoever wears the Silver and Black for 2024 and trust in the management and players. Rant over😊.

I have supported him form day one, I am sooo ready to see him play this season, I am so frustrated that the very few expect good results when the tape shows the opposite. You hit it on the head a lot of starting QB's do not throw with anticipation, he does, and Derek Carr could not very well. He takes care of the football and had a excellent career QB rating at Purdue of 145 for four years with average WR's. My comp started out very non-analytically, he looks like Kurt Warner facially, right, then he is the about the same height and mobility. Kurt had about 10 percent more velocity on the ball. Welcome the the greatest show in Vegas.

I'm with you, I think the film shows a few things to work on like consistent footwork, but since when can you expect perfection from a rookie? Especially one who got no first team reps until November. QBR (Quarterback Ranking) has a maximum of 100. Passer Rating has a max of 158.3 - I think that's the one you were talking about. AOC has shown development, accuracy, determination, (physical and mental) toughness and intelligence. He has a ton of potential.

That is what like AOC12 does. He fights.... 💯

AOC only played half a season too!!! Second behind CJ STroud in Everything???? So everyone that bashes him🖕🏽🖕🏽and go Raiders!!

He played against nfl defenses and they shut him down, including a 6 sack game by Khalil Mack and kept him from completing a pass for 3 consecutive quarters. His skill set is best as a backup and spot starter but yall been brainwashed into thinking it’s ok to have a mid level (at best) qb with talent around him who can’t and doesn’t elevate those players. We need someone with more talent, skill and athleticism which AP said he wanted before the draft. He said worst case scenario we have to go with ao… WORST case scenario and that’s from AP himself. ​@@decalphotos2295he had first team reps for half the season, with a brand new play caller who had never done it and didn't earn his way into keeping that job. I think they meant having first team reps all off-season. NFL defenses did not shut him down. His last 6 games he threw 9 TDs to 1 INT. He had 4 games over 100, as high as 120, and a game of 96. The Chiefs had one of the best defenses in the league last year, and the Raiders jumped out to an early lead so they were mostly running the ball for the last 3 quarters. Kolton Miller didn't play in that game - and AOC torched the Chiefs in their other matchup. Khalil Mack was not double teamed that whole game because Josh McDaniels was trying to sabotage AOC so he wouldn't have to play him anymore. Under Pierce he lit the Chargers up for like 4 or 5 TDs. His passer rating was better than Mahomes' Rating his rookie year, and only like 9 points lower than Mahomes last year. For a player to improve that quickly in the second half of his rookie year with a new coordinator speaks volumes. The only rookie QB that outplayed him was CJ Stroud. Imagine AOC with a real coordinator and a whole off-season as the #1 guy.

Not saying he can’t stick in the nfl, just don’t see him as anything more than average at best. 6 sacks in 1 game!? No completions in 3 consecutive qtr of the same game!? He had snaps in camp last yr too bc he played in every preseason game. The entire offense was in the same situation as ao and they still played at their same level as did ao, which is average.

AOC is indeed the real deal! However, I think its fair to at least note that defenses THIS year will be better prepared for him than they were last year. Sophomore jinx is well established in NFL, especially for QBs. So, I think another show might try to work through how certain qbs have avoided the s-jinx and others have fallen victim--and then re-analyze how AOC will proceed in 2024.

Crown him? I don’t know anyone that’s doing that. I feel like I’m his biggest supporter and I’m expecting to throw a few more than 20TDs. Crown him is way down the line. We just want competency right now. With these weapons he should make huge improvements this season.

Aiden’s going to be a household name before to long. This kid may not look like much but he can flat out ball. Now that he’s in the NFL he’s only going to get better. Last year was a sample size of his skill set the last four games as he got better with every game.. Everyone already knows what they have in Minshew. Now it’s time to see what we have in Aiden.

I’m more hopeful about AOC than most. Reason why is he has a strong arm that is accurate. Noodle arm QBs with no zip or accuracy you can’t fix. That’s not Aiden. He also has great work ethic from what I’ve heard and seen. Also a humble guy. His only struggles last season was quick decision making in the pocket. He would sometimes freeze or get on the move too late. His last 4 games in particular but overall he was solid for the 8 games he played. He did fail to score in a game and that was scary. I’m excited to see him in year 2. I’m going to be cautiously optimistic though and predict 3800 yards with 23 TDs and 12 INTs.

The raiders are in win now mode hence the signing of Christian Wilkins and people working the fu ck out in the gym putting in work. The raiders if anything could land a second round qb this draft

After watching receiver on Netflix the raiders are slept on. O’Connell is actually a good QB.

I was at a Raider game last year and I saw how good he was 0 points. I was really impressed! The autumn wind bags blow hard this year.

All of his stats last year came against staggering teams, lets not forget the shutout against the vikings, and not throwing a single completion for 3 quarters against KC. A game manager at best, not even close to being a gunslinger. Dude legit tied Jamarcus Russell's consecutive incompletion record. Worst QB weve had since Russell.

@raiders_17 dude wasn't the reason why the raiders won games it was the defense, we'll see what he can do this training camp going into the pre season bur so far all I've heard is that he's been struggling so there's that. I'm not a broncos fan at all, it just seems like the carr haters hyped up injury prone jimmy and O'Connell as the future and now that we seen what jimmy was and how poorly he played these haters have nothing left but keep hyping up O'Connell because they don't want minshew winning the job ot it will just prove that they're moron fans who said jimmy and O'Connell were better then carr and all they did was play bad, bottom 5 offense in 2023 with all those weapons.

@raiders_17 No, he didn't you casual, 🤣 the game you're thinking about is the Thursday night game against the chargers who the players didn't want to play for Staley anymore and let the raiders beat em like they did, 4tds in the 1st half and got shut down 2nd half, the chiefs game on Christmas day he had a total of 69 yards passing and the defense was the reason the raiders won that game scoring on 2 turnovers in 2 minutes.
