Sat on Skyrush for nearly 90 minutes with only one train running. Got at least 18 rides in. I am betting that if I'm able to do that again, my legs won't be quite as angry with me. Will be nice to ride, hands up, without holding on to keep the restraints from crushing my legs, too.

Went to Hershey a bunch growing up and Skyrush wasn't something I considered super memorable. Pretty intense but the restraints just killed any fun that it had. Went back today and the new restraints moved it from one of my least favorite in the park to probably number 2. The airtime with them is gnarly, and it really feels like the ride is trying to toss you during some of the bigger moments, while still being really comfortable. Absolutely changed the ride for the better

I saw you in the park! It was certainly a pleasure to talk to you for a sec! I definitely agree about the restraints- I really didn't like the old ones and it says a lot about the Park showing how they not just switched up the trains, but gave new theming and new life to the attraction. Definitely a needed change and they nailed it!

I rode Skyrush last year and I didn't have an issue with the restraints at all. I'm excited to see if I will notice a difference this year when I go back.

Thank you for the well detailed video. I am impressed with Hersheypark. This is a update that they didn’t have to do, but I’m so glad that they did. It probably breathed life into this ride and I’m happy to see it. Happy Intamin, the king of innovators had a solution

I didn’t really have pain with the old restraints but it’s great that they updated them!

I didn’t have a problem with the old restraints. The ride I waited an hour for yesterday was pretty sub-par after the drop, but that may have been a factor of the cold or wind. I look forward to testing the ride again in the summer!

Great video, Colin. Love those nice words outta you. I know when the new Skyrush merch is coming. Expect it to come to Hersheypark at some point this summer.

I’m SO glad they did this. Skyrush ranked highly for me due to the first drop, but the restraints did kill my legs and prevented the ride from ranking higher… it was probably my third favorite ride at the park. I know I’m not just a whiny enthusiast either, because the general public hated the restraints too. The ride had low ridership and the very fact that they popped the restraints up on the brake run proved how hated they were. I do wonder why it took them this long to address the issue, but glad they finally did nonetheless.

This change alone may make me visit Hershey Park this year.

I was definitely in the thigh crush camp. I will give it another chance on an interior seat.

Never rode it before but got two laps yesterday. Rode middle front for the first lap and enjoyed the view but it was not as intense as I was expecting based on what I saw online. Second ride was a next to last row left wing seat and that was a whole different experience! Loved it and can’t wait to go back and try the back row on both wings! Love the restraints, best in the game along with B&M clamshells

so glad theres less of a rattle 😂 the last time I rode skyrush was last summer and I ended up blacking out for 2 seconds from all the rough rattling and got off with a pounding headache. that was the first time thats ever happened to me on that ride.

When I go back to HP this summer will definitely be riding the new and “improved” Skyrush. I put the improved in quotes because since I haven’t rode it yet with the new restraints, so my opinion on it has yet to be seen 😂

good to hear about your positive experience. I was just wondering how the new seats support you laterally? That was one of my fav things of the old trains, that you basically had no support and you were thus flung around like a rag doll.

There’s definitely much more lateral bracing from the seat itself, so the laterals do feel less intense. I found that if you just lean forward, you’ll still get the laterals you used to get

The laterals are almost gone now and there's no freedom to lean sideways. If you try and lean forward, the seat back will dig into your back and shoulder blades. It sucks.

You like the new restraints and you say the GP will like the ride more, which is probably true. Butdo you think its a better experience now? Did Skyrush rise in your coaster rankings?

I’d say it’s probably in the same spot, I never had an issue with the old restraints, but it’s nice to have a more comfortable ride with better theming!

I think the restraint popping should be on a timer, like if the ops take more than a certain amount of minutes, the restraint will pop up-which will be a good marker of dispatch times

Personally I preferred the old ones slightly. These seem to come down during the ride (alike the old ones), although on your stomach/waist. I slightly prefer the older ones for feeling more exposed, which was due to how it contacted your thighs and not your waist. I'll say, the station looks awesome, but the sound effects and plane theme sucks. "Ride the Edge" was wayyyy better than "Fly First Class." Not moving it from my No. 1 spot until I get more rides in the summer though, too early to judge.

@@tanner3707lack of bracing support on original seats was a serious issue on this coaster for GP. Areas like the bottom of the first drop can really injure people if they are not bracing themselves, even first time enthusiasts riders I’ve seen hurt their back on the first drop pullout from not realizing how intense it is. The lateral bracing on these seats will hopefully help with that.

They are good i rode it today

Damn now i need to get to Hersheypark this summer. The restraints definitely took away from my enjoyment in the past, unless i waited for front seat, then it was much more tolerable for me.

This take Hershey Park from a "nice to visit" to "must visit" for me this year, cause the only thing I EVER heard about this coaster was "its amazing, except the restraints are awful"

Rope dropped it today, got two rides and it was insane, but I will have to say wildcats revenge is the superior ride in the park. Btw it got stuck & heard a pop, I think the cable snapped, hopefully not

I just road it this weekend. Really, its not much of a difference. Still crushed my thighs a little. But less than before. The new themeing is meh for me. I do like what they did with the station but the airline theme for this ride is a hard pass. I mean its skyrush one of the best and celebrated rides out there. They should have went for a like jet fighter theme going into combat in my opinion.
