Morning James Iv just put another set On my new WULF scope So you no what’s coming next Yes you guessed it the WULF 34 mm QUICK RELEASE Mounts Plus 6 screw is MILES better Than ANY 4 screw as people usually OVER TIGHTEN the mounts However with the 6 screw system I turn the screws down on the outer 4 s Then I do the 4 inners always crossing over Each mount The key to this is NOT OVER TIGHTENING and you get this with the 6 screw as soon as I feel resistance I STOP turning As for the QUICK RELEASE quite Simply BRILLIANT as the meerkats would say simples Have a nice day Jack

Got to say that the rifle being freemounted allows for another area of error if your intention is to check for zero shift when reattaching a scope. If the rifle is clamped then it helps reduce influence allowing for harmonic variation. Also shooting in a variable wind is not going to help with diagnosing zero shift? I am not sure I would hold much store as the results on this occasion. If the rifle is solidly clamped - it reduces pilot error - as you say - you pulled some shots. I used to shoot HFT and frequently removed my scope (not QR mounts) when post shoot cleaning. I never had zero shift when reattached? You also assume that the top section - and indeed the barrels are in 100% perfect alignment between actions so when swapping from rifle to rifle, the basic zero may shift on this alone. I have an HW100 where the barrel is easy to remove to clean and my POI will shift if the barrel is not put back in the same 360°orientation hence I have a witness mark. The bottom line is always buy the best solution you can afford. You can spend as much on the scope as you do the rifle - often the optic can be much more yet people pay peanuts on mounts. Well go figure ......

See just saw these on the market and decided to give them a go I'm using them on a lever action 45 Henry typically I use that rifle for defense I mean wild life defence like bear cougar wolves that kinda stuff bringing in stock but I was thinking one day you know if this had a real good Leopold scope I could use that for deer season in a jam or even longer range shots with a optic so it lft me wanting a optic option but still wanna be able to just pop it off and lever that sucker if in a bind so quick detach seemed like it was gonna be the way to go I like the way the rifle sits on the scope but to actually get the scope out and try it or get it sighted in I haven't yet but hope to soon

Not really a qd since its bolts that you tighten in full rotations not an unclamp or clamp on mount

I'm old school and cut my teeth on such gems as the Relum Tornado and BSA Meteor, and to spend £3000 + on a scope is a sign of more money than sense, and pandering to the modern Airgun Hype of " The more expensive the better even if you don't need it, but you look good at the range"
