Statistically, he’s saying that enough adhesives are used in the USA so that on average each American consumes x Kg or whatever number he said. That’s what I think he meant

There’s literally thousands of industries that use tons of glue everyday for commercial needs. It’s an average… doesn’t mean everyone uses that much. It’s just the amount of people in the US divided by the amount used per year.
