How Four Siblings Left A Toxic Family Environment

Ойын-сауық

In today's episode of Unfiltered Stories, we have the honor of listening to Sabrina Young's personal journey. Adopted as an infant, Sabrina faced significant challenges growing up in a home environment that was far from nurturing. From a young age, she had to navigate a complex relationship with her adoptive mother, who treated Sabrina and her siblings in ways that no child should ever experience.
Despite the hardships she faced, Sabrina has shown remarkable courage and resilience in her healing journey. Through therapy and speaking out about her experiences, she is shedding light on the often-overlooked challenges that can arise within the adoption process. Join us as we listen to Sabrina's story with empathy and learn from her powerful insights.

    Great in theory however there are a multitude of reasons that a person puts a child up for adoption. In the best case scenario a child might meet a parent who just simiply didn’t want them or couldn’t take care of them. In worst cases we have ppl who put their child up for adoption due to drug addiction, abuse within the home, mental issues, etc. not all family members want to or are able to connect not to mention it’s not always the best case for the child to reconnect with parents. I know someone who reconnected with parents who were pretty much scammers and just wanted money. Also with safe haven laws some children just won’t have a family member on record

    @@jj4754 Exactly. The idea has good intentions and would probably be great in the majority of cases, but as you've laid out, there are just some instances where this would not work or be beneficial to either party.

    This is a terrible idea. A lot of the time these kids are but up because they come from unstable, dangerous environments. Not to mention the lack of choice these children would to opt out of such a thing as they’re children and they’ll have no idea what they’re singing up for. Yeah this is a terrible idea

    You dont get a choice when you adopt its whatever comes first and you take the kid. You get a (depending on state) check of $300-$900 a month per child. Its "extra" money that these parents get towards bills and they leave the children to suffer.

    This is the perfect example as to why I don’t trust these kinds of adoption…these children always experience the racism from a certain demographic when they are adopted out to them. I feel a sorry t for her and this whole system failed her and caused her to feel worthless.

  • @machimuchy7963

    @machimuchy7963

    Saying that a certain demographic is racist, Is racist. You have a lot of people that adopt kids within their own race, and heras them. On other hand you have a lot of people that adopt kids, and threat them right. What about her own mother who was black like her, and gave her up for adoption. That was not enough so she had other kids, and gave them up for adoption. At the end she didn't even repent. On the other side her father was white, and would probably look for her, if he wasn't lied to by the same black mother. So let's not act like the whole other demographic is racist. Racism is not prevalent to one race only. That's why you have a derogatory terms for whites like "Craker".

Honestly the adopted mother and anybody else who treated this child badly needs to burn in hell!!!! I was a teenage mother. I wasn't a perfect mother but I feel I did the best I knew to do. I never mistreated my son like the things I hear about on KZread. I look at this beautiful young lady and I would have loved to have raised her and treated her with the respect and love that she deserved. I only had one child, my son. I can't figure out or wrap around my brain how people could mistreat children like that! I have to say it makes me really angry! My mother would always say not to say anything to CPS because they’ll take you away and send you somewhere horrible where people are constantly molesting a touching on you, as if that wasn’t already happening in our household, but we didn’t want it to happen further me and me younger siblings (6) . All my mom had to do was be really nice with the CPS worker and they would give her heads up on when they were coming over so she would have me and my sister clean up the whole house before CPS came to make it look like as if we were living in a really clean house when it wasn’t like that at all. I grew up with Rats, mice, cockroaches, mold, and me and my sister were always there to clean up everything. My mother knew that me and my younger siblings were being molested by my older brother, but never did anything about it and even after I told her she still had my older brother babysit me and my siblings. I know this is gonna sound mean, but I hope that everybody who treats little kids like that just goes somewhere the deepest parts of hell And is tortured for all eternity. I am sorry had to go through that and I hope that you are able to get the help that you need to get past this, just remember that you did not deserve to be treated like that!!!

    In the early 80s I was close for a few years with a girl who lived in the foster home nextdoor. I’ve always regretted that I lost touch with her when we moved away. I tired unsuccessfully to track her down online from time to time. A few years ago I tried again and my heart skipped a beat when I found a facebook page in her name. It had been more than 30 years since I’d seen her, but the photo… those eyes. It was definitely her. The most recent post, written by her brother three months earlier, said that after a years-long battle, she’d finally succumbed to her addiction. I was so devastated about her loss. About not having been able to tell her that I loved her and still though about her. That she had deserved so much more in her childhood than she got. That she mattered. Your story is such a powerful reminder that each of us is stronger than we realize… that we are not our pasts. I only wish she’d known that.

    My girl.. you have been through some serious stuff.. yet here you are, living like a champ and helping others. I can't wrap my mind around the fact that the adoptive family being ignorant enough to be racist yet adopting a biracial child.. that makes so little sense to me that's just horrible.. but I'm just happy to see that you have risen above it all and you are making a difference. I'm gonna go check out your socials and grab a copy of your book now.

    It's good to hear these stories...I always heard how the social services branches tended to be putting children in just about any home who would have them...the income incentives for those families was all that was considered by most of the people and then ones who really cared didn't realize the hardships of raising traumatized children...and a lot of times couldn't keep them because of that only...they were never for warned or provided with any instructions...I'm guessing there are many like stories out there just waiting to be told...prayers for healing❤❤❤

    I had a few extremely abusive foster families. One broke my ribs and another I nearly died in. I had to be put in state mandated therapy after a while because of how I had become non-verbal and aggressive. I always believe people when they say that they were abused by foster families, because I lived through it. With time, I looked into the creation of closed adoptions and foster care as a form of processing what had happened to me. To my horror, I found, with enough digging, that closed adoption was actually created by a child predator and was used to traffic kidnapped children. Originally, it was for a "good" cause. To put children born by unwed mothers into homes that could take care of them without the shame coming back to those women and young girls. Money running the world, the woman (yes, the woman was the predator) who was in charge, would hire people to kidnap children who were unattended on the sides of roads and that were playing in yards. The prettier children, the more money they would get. The closed adoption process would make it easier for them to hide this. I don't remember how it ends, but I know the woman in charge got into a common law marriage with one of the girls that she "adopted." Later I found out that the Morbid podcast did an episode on it. I recommend listening to it. It's eye opening.

    She wasn’t alone in the abuse. She said, we had to sleep in the bathtub without a blanket. This is about people who don’t know what love is & I think that they’re adopting or working in those institutions with their own personal motives. I think that we need a relationship with God to know what love is!

    Facts . She didn’t abuse me because of my race she abused me because she was mentally unstable. She abused my adoptive siblings that as well, and they are white . and these programs pray on children. None of the people who operated the programs were even qualified to work with children. They were all former drug addicts and criminals that got out of prison, and found Jesus and opened up programs to become the new Lester Roloff. My book explains my story way better.
