The reason he is so good may come from being a gymnast before racing. He has a greater sense of balance and control and treats the car as an extension of himself so he knows how to keep the car balanced in corners

Nope. The secret to Loeb's success is his driving style. He has the cleanest moat precise driving style. Its almost like a racer, rather than rally. He barely slides the car so he doesn't lose any time. Loeb also has much more precise pace notes. I read somewhere that he has a completely different pace note system.

I'm a F1 and WRC fan. Loeb is my favorite racing driver of all time, of all racing categories. I love him more than any F1 driver. Rallying will always be harder, because you have to always read every stone to know how to work with it while you are driving. That means rally drivers are mental. Absolutely mental.

Neither is easier. Rally you are not pushing the car as much compare to road racing. It's like comparing sprint to marathon. Both are talented drivers but you can't say one is easier and one is harder.

Fernandino Alonsini f1 is more of an endurance race. I'm saying things like sprint racing. Formula Renault. GT sprint. Spec miata. These guys are pushing the absolute traction limits. Rally driver on the other hand push the limit of the road and the car and mental limits. I can safely say you can go 10 sec faster on an average stage without the fear of mistakes. But that's the nature of rally racing.

He is underrated legend. People don't see WRC as high as WEC, Indy, etc.. but seriously.. he is superb.

wec and imsa have a very dedicated fan base, but theyre not that popular outside of it. In terms of the difficulty of racing id say wrc > indy (you'd be suprised how hard it is) > f1 > wec > imsa

Gus Johnson: You obviously didn't watch him win those nine seasons. His car control was simply a level up from everybody else. And seriously, what manufacturer has been able to produce a completely dominant car for nine seasons in a row?

And now that we're at it - in his first full season he was one point off the winner while easily beating his very experienced team mates (driving the same car) and previous world champions Carlos Sainz Sr. and Colin McRae. And he kept beating them (and everybody else) with a considerable margin year after year until he decided to try something else. If there's anyone fully deserving the label 'Legend' it's definitely Sebastien Loeb.

I played Richard Burns and then went right to playing dirt rally and I was stunned because the feel of the physics is very similar, I was expecting RBR to be better but it turns out I couldn't really tell the difference at all.

I remember seeing sebastian live couple years ago i was so impressed and happy

Loeb is a rally driver, Matt and Jimmy are racetrack drivers, I don't think outcome would be much different. I bet Matt could've done better in formula games.

Rally drivers are the top skilled drivers. Loeb is by far the best driver there ever was. Senna I love, but Loeb is the king, proved it over and over.

I have to admit I love watching Matt struggle to get around a rallycross track. I can slide around any of the WRX tracks in Dirt 4, but when I play F1 I can't even finish one lap without putting it into the wall. I'm glad to see the inverse is true for Matt.

there are certain criterias you have to meet to get a super license, he would have to spend some time in lower grade formula competitions to get enough points to qualify for f1 license. Google f1 super license if you wanna know about it

Doesn't matter if you are a 100 times champion, the licenses are different and their are procedures on how to get each type of license for each type of motorsport. Everybody gets in line for that

I was a kid back then..When i first started watching wrc my fav was sabastein loeb..But as i grew up i somehow stopped watching wrc ...As my interest in wrc again appeared memories flashed but i forgot his name....but at last after researching i found back his name..True legend..and his car was awesome..

Loebs Pikes Peak run was impressive, but pls watch Walters run in the S1 "Urquattro" which was unbroken until they did the road!

He was the best in his prime..he still is..by the way he won a gold medal in his first rally cross event..won the 2018 rally cross event too..anything more you need? Sebastian Loeb won 912 stages in 171 rallies. That's 5,33 stage wins per rally on average. Markku Alén won 821 stages in 129 rallies. That's 6,36 stage wins per rally on average. Oh yeah, and one of them raced through the Group B era against the fiercest competition ever and the other against a watered down field with no Lancias, no Audis, no Toyotas and FORD as their main competition. I rest my case.

Carlos Sainz is better too. He raced against all the greatest and won in an incredibly competitive era. Loeb winning 9 WRC titles has as little weight as Sebastien Bourdais winning 4 straight Indycar (CART ) titles. When all the greatest drivers were in IRL Bourdais had light competition. Had CART gone one for 5 more seasons then Bourdais most likely would have 9 straight Indycar titles too.

LOEB = Electrician = Grasp of serious physics = Fast = 6 consecutive wins = GOAT

This is the man who overthrown myth that only Scandinavian (Read: Finnish) can be multiple World Rally Champions more than 2x. And he handed the throne to his compatriot S. Ogier. Together they have more wins than all Finnish drivers combined, 188 vs 178.

I'm convinced Loeb has a photographic memory on top of being an excellent driver.

couldnt agree more henri was so far above EVERYONE when he died,a true true legend that we never got to see and its sad,that many fans do not know how quick and talented henri was,i had the pleasure of being on the 1980 rac and the way he made that sunbeam dance was insane absolutly insane,without doubt the greatest driver we never got to see fullfil his potential

Toivonen and the GrB guys were absolutely mental, every rally driver is mental tbh but those guys are on a totally new level! Loeb is the greatest in the rally world and maybe in the top 3 of best racing drivers of all time!

I dont think you understand how drivers get their superlicense. You have to have enough points in the lower class formula series to get a superlicense. Loeb didn't.

Loeb is fantastic & Ogier is amazing too! For me personally though, Kalle Rovanperä is the one to watch for the future of WRC, because I certainly believe that he can make it "TEN TIMES IN A ROW!".
