As per tesla website, the plaid ran 9.23s (in full SOC) as compared to the 9.27s on the Divo. Think the Tesla still beats it. But good competition..

Matt knows how to launch a car... until he gets into a BMW. It's not Matt's fault, some cars have tricky launch controls, like BMW or in this case, Bugatti. I'm sure Matt would also suffer a bit with a Chiron's launch control

Incredible how the Divo catapulted off at 8:35! No wonder it set a new world record. The Plaid's low end acceleration is really impressive but the Divo still accelerates faster at the top end.

Quick yes, Fast no. The Tesla Plaid will always win at a drag due to the short length of the track. Plus the unlimited torque on the plaid. Bugatti is meant for too speed where it will annihilate the Plaid.

@@danmyers9372 if you were more educated in economics and didn’t skip school, you would know that Dubai's GDP (over 95%) is non-oil-based; so far, oil has accounted for less than 1% of Dubai's GDP and tourism to produce 20% of the GDP, the remaining majors - construction, logistics, finance&investments, manufacturing. The oil times have long passed there.

Dubai is just where people go to flex the money they got from outside of Dubai. The city itself is not the source. That's why the city's GDP is so small compared to its extravagance. It's like Vegas, the majority of money in Vegas actually came from outside of Vegas.

The divo is expensive not for its acceleration but just because it’s super exclusive and rare. There a lot of slightly tuned (just ecu+downpipes) super cars (720s, 765lt, sf90) that easily run 3.5-3.7 sec 100-200kmh compared to 4.2 sec of the Plaid.

Even though it is $2,000,000 more than the Plaid, it is still the 1/4 mile king and is faster than anything Tesla offers at the moment. Now when the Roadster finally comes out, that may change, but until then, Rimac wins by a huge margin.

I think they own Rimac now, or at least the tech in Rimacs. They probably didn't want the embarrassment. So the best thing to do is to buy them, lol. The Rimac is insane. That Lucid Sapphire is insanely quick too. It smoked the Plaid, but let's see them successfully bring them to production. I still trust Tesla more than Lucid, but you can't argue against the Saphire's numbers; Tesla is still a better value though.

The next step after tri-motor Plaid is quad motor like the Rimac Nevera (and Hummer EV). The Cybertruck supposedly will have a quad-motor option. For drag times the cars are hitting the limits of how much force four tire contact patches can transmit to the ground, so quicker cars will need fans like the McMurtry Spéirling to suck them down or rocket thrusters like the supposed Tesla Roadster SpaceX package. The 576 horsepower Kia EV6 GT for "only" ?$70,000 shows how high the performance level will be for ordinary dual motor EVs.

Make an roll race and overall compare both on track. The Divo will melt the Tesla on the Nurburgring. Also try an top speed race with them. After 200 kph the "family car" falls off so hard, while the Divo has 230 kmh left.

It doesn’t though the divo actually does 8.7 secs on stock tires and isn’t even built for drag racing like the plaid is plus put the divo on even stickier drag tires and it does 8.4 secs so try again

@@Psychedelic-Playground not even the divo would smoke the plaid even from a dig divos do 8.7 to 8.6 secs at 162 mph and do 8.4 to 8.5 secs on stickier drag tires

Do you know that this car wasn't built for drag racing but for track lap times? And you know that Bugatti has NEVER built a Chiron for drag-racing like Tesla did with Plaid? When a Tesla will be capable of reach at least 370km/h, then Bugatti may be ashamed. Too bad that, when this will happen, Bugatti would probably build a 500km/h car. Oh way, they already did that.

@@RemykhTV many Plaids consistently run faster than 9.27 Chiron/SS/divo cannot even run 9's consistently. And 9.4 is slow for Plaid. You don't know this Plaid's SOC, peak performance ready? and cheetah stance was used? Nope!

The divo is expensive not for its acceleration but just because it’s super exclusive and rare. There a lot of slightly tuned (just ecu+downpipes) super cars (720s, 765lt, sf90) that easily run 3.5-3.7 sec 100-200kmh compared to 4.2 sec of the Plaid.

The crazy part is, you could buy a Nevera for 8 mil less and absolutely destroy the Divo. I’m not sure if this car is worth the price even with the exclusivity, buying a regular Chiron seems like a better deal.

I don't know Nevera has kinda dropped off the map because as far as I know it hasn't delivered even one to customers yet (will be happy to proven wrong on this).

Triple F did a drag video with their Chiron that had the same exact issue with launch control. Perhaps the Bugs have a transmission issue that keeps them from hooking up?

@@DragTimes seems like a launch control issues with these old Bugattis They are few years old Chiron Supersport and Pur Sport doesn't have that problem anyways Also if you could've used brake+boost Method in Chiron We could've seen a 9.5 seconds quarter mile Hamilton collection did a race too their launches were worse 0-60 in 3.2? It bogged so hard Conditions temperature tires suface all things matter

incredible car shootout, so thank you Brooks for bringing this to us. Quesiton: From my perspective the DIVO felt approx. 0,5 sec. slower from 100-200 to a regular bugatti chiron or super sport... The divo should keep up with the super sport as it owns a shorter gear ratio... and in the final pass it even slows down to >5 sec. 60-130... did it got too hot or was it just the start which didn´t seem perfect?

Nah, plaid beats every version of the Chiron in the 1/4. They cherry picked the best of 5-10 runs by itself only way to "beat" the Plaid. How many runs did they get to cherry pick the Plaid's best run? Answer: 1 What's the SOC, peak performance ready, cheetah stance? Nope = 9.4 slow

It's Tesla Plaid vs everything else. There is really no other standard when it comes to drag racing. It takes a $10 million ICE car to even keep up with a Plaid.
