I drive 55 minutes but considering moving, and it would be 65 minutes. I've done this for about 5 years and don't even think about it anymore.... If I got home 30min earlier I would probably just be sitting around anyways 🤣. It does hinder things a little bit but in the grand scheme of things I'm happier.

I just got offered a job that I'm going to take. Hour and a half commute minimum every morning and the only reason I chose to take it was the fact that they are providing the vehicle and the gas card and they're willing to pay me $20,000 more per year than anyone else in my local area. I'll be doing this for a little while. I think it's going to be worth it for the experience the job title and the money. I can always get that job title and money somewhere else in the future. But I can only get it right now and I'm taking my chance while it's available

Yeah, I work construction and get paid decently, but: I think whenever you pass over 2 hours a day on the road - you need to be making more money or being compensated in some way for that time. Alot of contractors will do per diem or paid travel time. BUT! Right now I'm with an outfit that is expecting me to drive 4+ hours a day while only getting paid my standard 40 hour work week, meaning each day is about 12 and a half hours from when I leave my house to when I return. That's 62.5 hours I'm using of my week strictly in commuting and working, and again, only getting paid for 40 hours @ the same rate as I would for driving 15 minutes to work. Tooo tooo much.

About 2 hours. 2 hours 15 minutes is my cut off mark. When we stay out of town I’ll drive back aslong as I’m getting home by 730-8 o’clock to eat dinner see my kids and wife and kiss them goodnight. Then I’ll wake up at 5 out the door by 520 and do it all over again. A lot of the guys think I’m crazy but that hour I wake up earlier id just be sleeping so alittle less sleep is worth it to see the kids a few extra hours. And then I don’t feel anxiety or depression being away from them. However if I’m walking in my door at 9 at night then I’ll just sleep in the hotel. 4 hours of driving total everyday definitely starts to mentality fatigue you

Always consider what this job is offering you, if this job is a hour away and it plans to offer you a future, better pay, and retirement a hour long commute to work is well worth it, but if your pay is short and your barely making it by with the driving then forget about it, always think of your future long term when taking a job that you have to commute for, you are your boss, and if the job ain’t worth it then it ain’t worth it.

Me and my family just relocated, I have been at my company for 10 years and i make decent money and can't justify quitting I also love my job, I drive 234 miles to work every day takes me 3 hours and 20 minutes... been doing it for 2 months. I did however finally find a new job, that is pretty close to the same pay... luckily for me, I dont have to pay for the gas to commute being its in my work truck... I spend about 10 hours a day driving.. once i get to work i get my job and drive some more..

For me it was money and opportunity. I knew I had to at least make back what I was spending in the commute. But anything on top of that was gravy because what I was really after was more opportunity, and more money will come with that later if not right away. I just accepted a job where I will be committing 3 hours but I will only be doing that once as I'll be driving down there and staying for 3 days then driving back. The experience, opportunity, networking, and the pay all in outweigh just staying at my current job.

I've lived 3 minutes from work and hated it because I had coworkers more or less stalking and keeping tabs of when I got home. At this very moment, I live 15 minutes from work (living in an air b&b because my rental house got hit by a tornado, it was 30 minutes from work) but I long to live much further from town where I can walk out my back door and see the stars. Looking to buy a house that would be an hour drive. I have a company vehicle and gas card as a bonus. I'm not sure if I should tell my job that their gas bill is about to get more pricey. Then again, I have other coworkers that live far away as well.

Theres a nice little town about 60 mins commute from my work that im considering relocating too. You can save about 100-200k on a house in this town easy compared to where I live now.

Long commute seems ok, I live in a rural town with less cost of living and my monthly mortgage on my house is 1/4 of my monthly salary. I work in San Francisco coz the pay is high and just do a 2 hour commute each way goin to work and back home. Good thing I work permanent graveyard shift so no traffic goin to work and goin home coz in the morning traffic is on the opposite way 😆 plus i have fixed sunday mondays off 😜 drives a tesla and charges it when i get home i save on my electric bill coz i break even with my solar panels and battery 👍

Apartments in my city cost for a 1 bedroom is 900+ a month for something safe and decent, anything under that is not well kept and not worth the money. Apartments that are farther out are about around 500 to 800 and are well kept.

I would drive 30 minutes for $22 an hour. Last year, I had a job making $21 per hour and it was a 75 minute drive each way. It wasn't worth it at that distance(130 miles roundtrip). Now I make $19 per hour, but my drive is a more reasonable 40 minutes each way.

I think if you’re they’re paying you about $20-$22 an hour 30 minutes is decent drive but if you’re getting paid any less do not do that drive if you’re getting paid $15 a 15 minute drive would be OK if you’re getting seven dollars an hour I wouldn’t drive more than 10 miles! You’re getting paid 45 to 50 an hour a 2 hour drive is fair. This is completely my opinion though.
