How Far Can a $10 Pen Take You? -- Platinum Prefounte Review & Drawing

~~~~~~~~~
I was very pleased with the Platinum Prefounte fountain pen, (find it on Federalist Pens here: federalistpens.com/products/n... ) definitely seems like a good grab for anyone at this price point. Still, the main downside for me is the lack of an included piston converter. I don't like feeling like I'm about to run out of ink, and the only solution being either ordering more cartridges (or an $8 converter) or trying to refill the cartridge with a syringe, which actually is kind of a fun pen-tinkering adventure sometimes, even if it can get a little messy. I just don't like to feel held back by my pens, and that's what a cartridge does for me.
That aside, this does feel like a solid pen for a beginner or a good addition to anyone's collection, it feels practical and can be used when you may not want to use a more expensive pen. It doesn't do a lot of flexing, but it flows well and feels good.
Here are the two papers we looked at:
    Peter, we all know that everybody needs to eat and pay the rent... you entertain us for hours every month, and we appreciate your efforts. It's important to build your knowledge base and skill sets, and a degree in architecture is a credential that will certainly help you in the future. Keep drawing and we'll keep watching --- that's how economies work and we all understand the dynamics of the system. Love, Your followers
I’ve been watching and/or listening to your stuff for quite a while now, and it is by far some of the most relaxing and entertaining work I’ve seen on here. The entire cadence continuously emitted from your voice, your art, your editing, etc. leaves me in such a comfortable state of being regardless of what’s been going on. Uniqueness exudes from you, in the most positive sense of the word, and I hope that whatever you decide to do in the future brings good fortune and happiness to you. I think I speak for most of your audience when I say I’ll support you in whatever endeavor you choose to pursue. So at the very least, I hope this provides some semblance of comfort to you amidst the wild uncertainty grasping the world today. Love ya, man
    Hi Peter! glad youre staying healthy. staying away from coffee after drinking it for a long time can be hard, its a super good thing you can exercise self control like that. eating habits can be just as hard to take control of, esp when theyve become so convenient. i loved your video. i for one really enjoy listening you talk for that long. i think its a very good thing that you tried to just speak super honestly about your thoughts and feelings about your work, sponsorships, college, etc. I could be wrong but i think being that open in a video helps grow your relationship with your audience. focusing on an artistic (or non-artistic) job apart from youtube could be very good for you and im excited to see what choices you make. your skills would grow in many ways if you devoted yourself to a more focused artistic profession. staying on youtube alone + working with sponsors could support you for a long time, but i think its wise of you to question the life span of your state of success. while you have massed a sizable and loyal following, and a healthy community on youtube, success is often fickle. have you considered showing your work? being represented by a gallery? or maybe you could work as an illustrator? i dunno, but im glad youre talking about it! love you bye
    Peter, I really enjoy hearing your career thought process and issues with sponsorship, etc. You are always upfront and forthright with what you are doing and your rationale and while I can’t speak for other viewers it doesn’t bother me at all that your videos include sponsors because I know it provides better income for you. You deserve to be paid well for the thoughtful and creative entertainment you provide.
    I really don’t mind about the sponsored segments either. I am kinda glad about the Raid Shadow Legends turn down though because I get the feeling from watching other creators do them that they basically give you a script and some graphics and say ‘use this exactly or you don’t get paid’ and it just ruins the flow and nature of the content. Also, I’m eating a steak burger right now after a crappy night shift.
    I know this is an older video, but I just wanted you to know my husband and I recently found you and your incredible videos. I, personally, suffer from a lot of anxiety and depression, but there is something about you, your voice, your personality and your drawings that inspired me. I decided yesterday to turn your videos on and just draw, but not a picture of a person, animal or landscape, but just a beautiful doodle ART and something about it was calming. Having you and your funny conversation and sweet, precious aura also helped. You’re an inspiring soul without even trying. Keep being you, Peter, unless you don’t want be that day, then be that guy. I’m sure he’s great, too. Thank you so much for being you. It’s beautiful.
    Dear Peter, a long long time ago when I was single, I discovered that cooking, even if it is effort and dirties dishes and then you eat it in a few minutes, it is time spend on taking good care of yourself. And I also found that cooking for myself, just for myself, a few days a week just did wonders for my self-esteem. I just loved myself a little bit more and that was a good thing for me and every around me.
    Yes. When I make a lasagna I have to freeze it. So much better and cheaper than store bought ones, and I control the ingredients. I will get a pizza once in a while, and that lasts me 4 days. A rotisserie chicken from Costco is so many meals for someone like me. The last one I got I made soup out of the last of it and still have 3 big things of frozen chicken noodle soup in the freezer, just in case I get the virus. I'll make a batch of rice and put it in a baggie and sometimes freeze it. then I just take out what I need to add to a soup, or heat up and put under some other sauce or chili, Especially brown rice. Brown rice takes longer to cook, so it's nice to have some ready to go. I do the same with pasta, cook more than I need and refrigerate the rest for fast food.
    Your videos bring me a lot of comfort and uplift my mood when I'm feeling down, so waiting through a 1 minute sponsor isn't the end of the world. I don't judge you, you have to do what you have to do to survive, and when I was on my own I had weeks where I would order delivery food every day, and definitely had a few 2 times a day deliveries. Better off not doing that of course, but it's hard to motivate yourself when it's just you. Take care, Peter, I wish you all the best in life, see you in the next video.
    Your sponsored segments are the best. You put that timer up and we can skip right on over them. As someone who listens to podcasts, damn, I never need to hear anything about Squarespace again, so I really appreciate that. Oh, and I'm a single guy that lives alone, and my favorite simple food to make is burritos. I fix up about 8 or 10 at a time, wrap em in foil, throw em in the fridge and eat them throughout the week. Makes packing my lunch super easy in the mornings before work.
    Do you not like leftovers? Make a family size portion of soup, use a crock pot- make something you can eat for a few days! Put in whatever you want- veg, meat, pasta, grain. Potatoes are one of my favs- so many ways to cook up a bag of potatoes over a week! ...I say this as a single person who also has to make an effort to feed myself ^^
    I'm in my 50's and i can tell you that getting a job is not the way forward if you have already got a launching platform that you have painstakingly built up over the years then it is a pity to just let it float slowly away when you are so close to being a millionaire. there are millions of designers and people working for other people you are working for your self and are already successful you have already got a degree in being well known on you tube you just keep expanding and don't stop until it gets crazy good keep going don't stop
    Peter, never feel guilty or bad about accepting sponsors, living isn't free, you've gotta pay bills and eat like the rest of us. We 100% understand and you shouldn't have to apologize for it. As long as you enjoy what you're doing then we will enjoy watching. Been watching since 2014 and have loved your content and you as a person ever since. We love you, and thank you for the years of entertainment. You know what they say, we came for the art, but we stayed for the Peter.
    Hey Peter, this is 3 months late, and it’s likely that you won’t see it, but I’m commenting anyway. I would agree with the commenters here that your audience is here for you as much as for your content. I’m... working through a big loss in my personal life right now, and it’s sucking the joy and creativity out of me. Listening to you and your honest, personable, commentary is comforting. I wish you the best in both your artistic and professional/educational pursuits.
    Just came across this video today. I have been following you for quite some time, but have been away from KZread for awhile, especially since Hurricane Laura. I watched one of your videos years ago about what to do when you don’t know what to draw or something like that. Anyway I did what you said and started drawing lines and curves or circles and it was amazing. I loved it and I just kept going, so thank you for that. I really came here to say that there is something about you and your videos that is compelling. I’m 71 years old and I find your videos very relaxing and inspiring - makes me want to go draw with my fountain pens. I have several of the platinum preppy fountain pens - $3.50/each with different nib sizes and lots of colors of J Herbin ink. Thank you for your videos!😊❤
