I feel like marshmello being unidentified was part of the magic.

Marshmallow is smart guys, If marshmallow sent Shawn Mendes to receive his reward on stage that means he has great ways to fool people. Everyone knows a tattoo can be used to identify people, he would notice "his" tattoo showing easily. The camera angle of "him" taking the picture through the mirror is way off and not possible. "He" clearly know that "he's" in the "reflection" and it was deleted to make it more believable. If you're Marshmallow friend and get a call you wouldn't call him out so quick on camera. Marshmallow wouldn't make it that easy

I think marsh wanted this cause those ripped jeans were ripped perfectly to his tattoo and he would've check if there were any reflections
