Hi Gabe, an old India hand here, been many many times over the last 40+ years. Much time spent in Himalaya. Just wanted to show my appreciation for your non pretentious way and your obvious respect for where you are. Not always commen among vlogers. I hope not a spoiler alert but if it's not your next destination please consider Mandu [nearby] . Went there in 2017 and it is a must see, and I know you'll agree. Oh by the way make sure you do make the time for Spiti. Start at Shimla end and go to Sangla valley up to Chitkul then on into Spiti. I went in1994 just as it opened for foreigners and again in 2009. Big changes so don't leave it too long. Keep well

Nice video. Ujjain near Indore is a Holy city. Ujjain has a temple dedicated to Mahakaal (Shiva). From Indore there is an overnight train to Jabalpur. You may consider visiting Jabalpur after Indore. Ujjain hotel is little costly because it has an Air Conditioner. Other hotels did not have AC (from the looks, I may be wrong). Usually Hotel rooms having AC are little costlier

Plenty of hints as to where you were headed. In Jodhpur, you said about an hour away from Indore. In this video early on, you said north of Indore. At the airport, you said Indore is the cleanest city in India, and a man replied "6 times (Cheh baar)". You heard, "Shiva". (Remember my comment from a Jodhpur video, "When different words sound similar.") Had to be Ujjain, the city of Mahakal Shiva. Looking forward to your next videos. Do make one video for breakfast. Indore and nearby places are famous for Poha Jalebi for breakfast.

Asthmatic so limited with bag and heat, but prefer local bus and amazing trains if possible less stressful when they turn up. India is best place on planet for any travel. Contrary to exaggerations on you tube as a single 50 sthing never once felt unsafe or bothered. Best hostels were India and Morocco where a heap of respect was ahown and whenever adked for heating or aircon etc waslaid on free lovely breakfasts, worst was Mexico often said some form of ventilation and zero... no English is usually the best, I love thalis and dosas!!!

It is not a touristy area so curiously seeing other skin color is obvious. This is the same reason why most people ask for selfie if you visit tourist place because those people are also local tourist and probably from less touristy place so if they see different skin color people it is a novelty to them and curiously. Local taxi drivers dont see white skinned nornally so it is a curiousity and unlike west , Indians generally are more talkitive and social. This state is in central India and is called Madhay Pradesh (literally meaning central state) . The state is no as industrially developed as coastal but lot of wildlife . The state has largest number of tigers and also has cheetah. ***The jungle depicted in "The Jungle Book"[Rudyard Kipling.] is believed to have been inspired by the jungles of the Seoni district in Madhya Pradesh, India*** Gabriel had been to Omakreshwar, Orcha before which are small cities of this state. Indore is the largest city in this state. You can think of central America which is more uniform in demographics compared to coastal . Hindi is language commonly spoken so people wont speak English in general except working /office going and students.

India is cheap specially for European or American tourists. In Europe, in some cities, I paid between 45-65 Euros for a bunk bed in a hostel and cabs for solo traveler like me are simply unaffordable. In India, for 45-65 Euros per night you can get at least a 3 star hotel and maybe even a 5 star hotel with breakfast included as well. Good thing is European cities are small and one can easily walk around and see most of the places which happens to be near the city center/old town. In Paris, I walked 12 KMs in 1 day 😅

I use World Nomads. I can't say I trust them necessarily, I wouldn't know until God forbid I was in a sticky situation like you described. All insurance companies are unreliable to some extent or another. I pay for the insurance and then forget about it and hope I don't need it. The best case scenario is it's a waste of money and you never actually use it.

A little off topic but Gabe, how many comments do you get each day on your back catalogue? With 2600 vids out there you must get quite a lot of comments on old ones as well. Are you able to track all these; for instance, someone leaves a comment on a 5 year old vid? Thanks.

The comments come in chronologically based on when they are posted, so it doesn't matter if it's an old or new video, I'll see the comments in order. Most of the comments are from recent videos, probably 80% or so. Comments on videos from years ago happen regularly but overall are a very small percentage.
