But this dumbass went to the "designer restaurants" and call Aruba expensive 🤦🏽😅... It's not the cheapest Island. But not as expensive as he portrayes it. Plus if you want quality you have to pay. Being a cheap person isnt always good.

I've made six trips to Aruba, my last trip being back in September of 2018. I spent five nights at the Pista Q(Friday and Saturday night before switching over to La Canana for seven nights, then back to the Pista Q for three nights). I had a single room and it was most comfortable.Their internet was quite strong and made it possible to stream shows and movies on my tablet and phone. I remember their being a flyer from El Gouchos in the living room area which advertised a burger with fries and a drink for $15/$17.00. Made full use of it, I meant to check out Peanuts but forgot. Maybe next time. Thanks for the video, always happy to see positive videos about my favorite island in the Caribbean.

Hi, local here. I am kind of sad that this video gives the viewers the wrong interpretation of the island. Although Aruba is expensive(not gonna lie) he showed 3 very expensive restaurants. There are lot or other local option that were close by. It is funny because exactly across the street there is this cheap dutch/asian place were he could of bought a whole meal for 12,50 florins(probably changed, it has been a while since i was last there). Also I saw some people complaining it looks boring. There so much more stuff that you can do besides laying on the beach. You can snorkel, walk in our national park, visit caves, look at museums, visit white sand dunes, go to different picture perfect hills and visit art painting at san nicholas ( all cheap thing to do). Ps i will write some personal recommendation to some cheap/semi cheap places Pss sorry for any spelling mistakes i am dyslexic ;p .please thumbs up so other people and gabriel can see it to have a better stay😀

So for empanada there is this place call niaska which is located in oranjestad(you should try it with garlic sauce). La granja i personally like, sells chicken latin style food( also again sauce). Welcome snack for some nice pastechi(local food) also try croquet there as well. King ribs on the weekends( not sure if still open) In san nicholas try saco di felipe. In santa cruz try urataka and pepe nacho. For beer try our local beer balashi, hopi bon or hopi stout. Local rum is palmera. One thing i forgot to add that most things that are on the beach are normally more expensive

I'm sure there are some cheaper places, but I've looked at a lot of menus for restaurants in Oranjestad and they're all expensive. I guess you have to get outside the city center or out of Oranjestad altogether. The only cheap place I've found was the street food stalls by the Citgo. I had a delicious steak sandwich this evening for $11.

You should check the option i mention some are really close by. At least 2 are les than 500 meters away. Some are even closer than the cuban restaurant that you went to. Also stop buying beer or food on the beach(in general tourist trap)

@@josteneverfresh2640 I didn't make it to that one, but I did eat at the food carts, which is one cheap option, as well as the Peanuts restaurant. Great place, delicious food and more affordable than some of the other places. I showed that in this video, as well as more of the island: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oomMw9Rwp5zVeJs.html

Nice to see some KZreadr makes a video of Aruba. As you saw, It is a expensive Island because the main income comes from the tourism. I lived there almost my hole life and as local I Find there are some place are actually more than expensive. But in the Main Street there are some local restaurants where you can eat local food or like Colombia for example a very good lunch in a local place you can get it for 9 dollars but believe me it would be a lot of food. And specially Colombia have sometimes a drink included. My advice to save all you can is To ask local people. They are very friendly and kind. I am sure someone would help you to get a place cheaper with delicious local food. By the way Thanks for visiting the Island. I hope this tips can help you or other persons that read this comment. Beside that I hope you enjoyed the beautiful beaches of Aruba.

When you rent a car don't take the insurance and use you Amex card make sure when you rent your car they note ALL the scratches on the rental agreement. Also try the Balashi beer its local. Beach theft is non existent, locals are not gonna steal your bag. Aruba is the Boracay of the Caribbean but with US prices food costing almost twice as much. Noord is my favorite area in the island that's were the action is tur cos bon....adio

I was born & raised in Aruba. Aruba is indeed expensive. But I have never paid $5 for an empanda or so. He definitely went to the most expensive places. I never ate at el gaucho because I know how expensive it can be. Nearby there is a store called prikichi. You can find empanada there for like $1,50. Or by that store where the mini buses are, even tho I don’t know if it still exists. You must know where to buy your food. There is; peanut restaurant, don Jacinto restaurant etc. And about the building, it was indeed restored but unfortunaly a fire broke out & it was never restored after that. If you wanna see some nice places, with view, go to andicuri, gold mines, dos playa, moro beach, natural pool, natural bridge, climb the hooiberg!! Hooiberg is a tall mountain with stairs, nice view from up there. Mangel halto is also a beautiful clear blue water beach!! There is a lot to do in aruba! Make sure to chek everything out.

Being a local here, seeing these prices for restaurants left my mouth wide open. Most of these restaurants in the city or at the beach SUCK money out of everyone, be it a tourist or a local. Aruba can be cheap if you skip these high end restaurants. Those empanadas in El Gaucho that were $10 left me speechless. Empanadas usually don't surpass $2. There really are normal priced areas but only if you leave the tourist area. Those prices really shocked me to be honest.

Yes Aruba is expensive. Your average rental car is 30 usd per day some give discount is you rent for a week or so and yes most of them are near the airport, but If you call them they can deliver the car at you accommodation. It can get expensive if you take their insurance the collision damage waiver, but you need to look at your own insurance from back home or credit card insurance some of them will cover that so you don't need the rental cdw. If you want offroading you will need a 4x4 that will cost you about 100 usd per day, a small car Hyundai accent or so will get you most place around Aruba. YES please do rent a car other wise you will be limited Aruba is beautiful so explore it by car, I think in 1 hour you can go from south tip of Aruba to the north tip :)

I live in Aruba. It's true that Aruba can be expensive. But El Gaucho is one of the most expensive restaurants. Specially because it's right in the touristic area. There are many local restaurants that are very beneficial for tourist because of the currency exchange. Like Sweet Peppers and Matthews (Noord), they have great daily specials, happy hours, entertainment and better prices (These are touristic places but with reasonable prices). The early bird menu of Twist of Flavor is amazing!! (Noord), Cafe the Plaza (Oranjestad), Gostoso restaurant (Oranjestad) they have great lunch menu's. Zeerovers: This is a local place in Savaneta. If you are a fish and shrimp lovers. The fish is very cheap and it comes with fries or fried sweet plantains. You choose. O'niel Carribean Kitchen ( San Nicolas) local place woth great prices and generous portions!! El Chalan!!! A MUST!! In Oranjestad!! It's Peruvian. They have lunch menu's for 15 florins. Which is like 8.50 dollars and you have soup, main dish and dessert!! Another must is 'Peanuts' ( Oranjestad) Local restaurant and the menu is in aruban florins and they have Aruban cuisine options. Don Jacinto (Oranjestad): Colombian Cuisine with lunch specials and affordable regular menu prices. There are so many places. Don't let these restaurants scare you off. 😘🤗

Aruba is gorgeous and the weather is perfect every day and the people are wonderful - most visitors are return visitors. Everything is imported hence the high food prices. You can absolutely find reasonably priced food - El Gaucho is a 'special occasion' type of restaurant.
