    It's true though, that's not real dubstep. In real dubstep, the sub bass tells the story, not the screechy synths.

    @MIZUch.

    I enjoy both sounds, but honestly, I am quite tired of these dubstep vs brostep thing. For me brostep is just a new style and evolution of the original dubstep. When I want something punchy and aggresive, I choose brostep. Vice versa, when I just want to relax and calm down, I listen to dubstep.

  • @MIZUch.

    @MIZUch.

    4 жыл бұрын

    Also, if you listen to a few brostep tracks, they do tell some kind of story, especially in the melodic dubstep scene. It's just that most of the brostep sound is made for the dance floor, so they have the emphasis on aggressive sounds and the drop. Try listening to Runaway by Color Parade, or Whispers in The Forest by Storyboard & Skybreak.

  • @acidic6706

    @acidic6706

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@MIZUch. fair point. I love the deep and dark stuff, "proper" dubstep, as pretentious as that sounds. But I'm also a big fan of the new riddem scene, artists like Mastadon/Marauda, everyone on Savage Society records, Never Say Die, J:phelpz, Etc. In fact, I'm going to see Borgore for NYE. The "proper" dubstep scene still evolved while the brostep did its own thing though. SP:MC, J:Kenzo, Biome, still making sub bass tunes to this day, it's just more underground. Check out Hebbe, and Angelic Root if you get the chance on SoundCloud or YT and bump on a system with a nice subwoofer. That sort of authentic style of sub bass forward dubstep (even tho it's still evolving) will always be underground I think because it doesn't scream PARTY vibes that most massive edm festivals cater to. I just wish people knew the roots more because when love something so much you want to share it! Cheers

    It truly can be anything with beginning or theme, but as long as has those metallic growls and chainsaws and other saws grinding against my eardrums, its always orgasmic to listen to them. Of course, it needs a beat and a base to go with, like a fine cake on its plate.

    Uk garage started around 94/5, it was just sped up US garage at first, then speed garage around 96. 2 step stemmed off of it in around 98. An early example of grime was born from 2 step (musical mobs pulse x and wileys eskimo plus dizzie rascal)around 2001/2 dubstep also stemmed off of 2 step with the artist El B carrying a more broken beat sound. Skream used to go in apple who was pushing 2 step and garage at the time with Hatcha who worked in there, they used to have a studio on the top floor iirc. Also iirc the black sheep bar (a small alternative club just up the road from apple) is where the sound started to spill from with dj's like sgt pokes pushing the sound.

    Skrillex wasn't the creator of Brostep. Knife Party started it with "Centipede" and became very popular, then Zomboy with "Terror Squad" exploded it. And then Skrillex just made a parody of Terror Squad called "All is fair in love and Brostep". The term Brostep wasn't very popular back then before Skrillex used it.
