How English Accent Sounds to Non-English Speakers l Korea, Japan, France, Germany, India l FT. CIX
#korean #kpop #cix #india #france #japan #germany
There are many different English accents around the world!
How would they sound in different languages?
Today CIX memeber came on to set and tested out!
How well did they do?

Korean guy actually did pretty well. Seems like the German and French girls’ ears aren’t trained to the Korean or Japanese accents so instead of just mimicking what he says, they messed up the message. All good though, maybe next time!

@@onthehwak-cn7el I don't think it was because they thought they were better at english, they likely just weren't used to hearing the words with a korean accent and some phonemes got lost because of it. in korean, the "woo" sound doesn't really occur like it does in english and is instead just pronounced as "oo", without the "w" at the beginning, and the korean guy tried to mimic that, but it still kind of sounded like "ool" instead of "wool"

This guy is great, he memorized absolutely all the tongue twisters correctly and his pronunciation is pretty good. I don't know how that girl got the word "old" from the "wool''.

This is an old comment, but I think it’s because the W sound in Korean is so softly spoken, so she was just hearing the ‘ool’ and trying to connect it to a word. Obviously we knew, as watchers, what was being said, but she was blind to it, and English is a second language to them all, which also makes it difficult. That being said, his pronunciation WAS very very good.
@nablamakabama488
Ай бұрын
He said „ool“ and just left out the w. That made it unrecognisable to her. I would have gotten „all“ or „old“ too.
@catpoke9557

Because he was pretty much saying "ool" which is not a word, so she tried to match it up to some kind of existing word and didn't consider wool
@Fartsquad_

nablamakabama488 I don’t think there is a W sound in Korean at all,. So imo I thought he pronounced “wool” pretty well despite that fact. Even if the the w sound can’t be heard and it just sounds like “-ool” how can that be turned into “old”? Maybe we should consider the fact that perhaps there is no word that’s close to “wool” in her language ??? (German I think?)
Omg I got so pissed bcus the German and French girls were trying to make sense out of it instead of js repeating even when the guy was giving the black hair girl the nod that yes it's correct what your sayingggg
5:09 yes, I was wondering why Lv. 2 is easier than Lv.1 but I guess the producers know better, because apparently “wood” and “wool” were difficult for the Korean guy to pronounce. But yes, he did really well for Lv.3 which is amazing 👏

Both Japanese and Korean people have a lot of trouble with the "w" followed by an "ooh" sound. They are taught in school to pronounce the word "would" as "ould", for example. That's why "wool" became "ool" --> "old"
Yonghee is so smart and beautiful. He’s so soft spoken and his English is so attractive 🥺💕
Yonghee did really well actually, hes such a genius
Her: Can a can can a canner Also her: Can a can can not asking
I like this honest German answer "No, I can not" 😂
Yonghee's understanding of English is actually impressive ngl, I was surprised. Yeah maybe he is not the best but he is trying his best, especially when he was explaining can is a verb.

The guy did very despite saying he is no good in english , he tried to memorise the words in diff ways , making sense of the ones he know and making the rest out of the meaning with gestures , ans when he is unable to make a meaning , he memorised them by hands He's great ! He looks like a sweet guy Even tried to take the blame saying it might've been his pronunciation, but honestly i understood clearly from him so Also is he here bcuz cix is having a cb? Yonghee did such a good job, especially with counting the 'cans.'
Korean guy did so good. Cute. I like his voice & accent.
Ok, but some of the contestants were not concentrating on what they were doing in this video. This guy was giving his all!!! He was the MVP!!! The people right after him - not concentrated and in the game. The French and the Indian didn't even had a chance because they were after bad teamplayers... And the Japanese girl - why so toxic??? Calm down! What is this blame shaming - you were in their shoes and were wrong too.
I feel like the "can" one was made more difficult by breaking it up so much as it lost its rhythm and meaning immediately.

I love how the last three girls were only confused about the watch sentence, because they were actually looking for one. Btw: My approach would be different: Saying the sentence without stopping ONCE, so they know what is actually part of the sentence. Then, repeat the words afterwards making sure they get it, and then repeating the sentence without stopping again. "No I cannot" was a hilarous replay to the can tongue twister XD
The Korean guy is actually very good in English and smart 😮
They should just mimick what the first guy is saying and not try to make sense of off it. It seems like they don’t trust him.
This is the best video concept I’ve seen in a long time

aaaaa love this!
Which which switch which which 😂 and Saki's face in the Canner and Canon part 🤣 No doubt this is the best and funny "When did it go wrong" I want more 😂
I really enjoyed this type of content
This was legit funny and wholesome 😂 They did a good job because this would be hard to half the native English speakers in America for sure!
I didn’t know I needed this, but it was the best game of telephone I’ve ever watched!
This was absolutely hysterical 😂 I can't imagine how hard this must have been though. The guy did so well.
The problem with using these tongue twisters is twofold: On the one hand, the test becomes more about *remembering* all of it than pronouncing or understanding it correctly (as was seen in the first round. They all got the pronunciation pretty much right. But they kept losing more and more of the tongue twister because they just couldn't *remember* it). And then of course, if you have someone at the end of the line who just *knows the tongue twister*, it stops being a test altogether and the game turns into "who has the most tongue twisters committed to memory and can repeat the full ones when part of them is relayed to them?" 😅
@stealthis
25 күн бұрын
Well memorization and understanding are always going to be connected. If you can't understand a word like wool then it's going to affect your ability to memorize it as your brain start focusing on that one spot to the detriment of the rest. Tongue twisters are also a bad choice but maybe they would work better if they were crafted on the spot.
Wow, it's fascinating to hear all these unique accents! 🌍👂🏼
Put money on the table and they’ll start getting it right lol
The guy - He is handsome, deep voice, p.s he did good❤
I laughed so hard! Please make more of these! Do Spanish please :)

It's the second time i watched this video and i can't stop to laugh 😂 You're good guys

I think a lot of times they get confused because of how slow they’re saying it, it’s like trying to remember a bunch of words instead of a sentence
@NZBigfoot

Yeah the rhythm of the sentence gets lost and it falls apart. Especially the last one, if you say it quick and fluid its easy, the moment you stop it falls apart and even the meaning evaporates. The 2nd guy had it right when he was using his fingers and counting out the rhythm. I once had a phone number for 24 years that was similar to the canner sentence, I could rattle it off at speed to people no sweat since it had a melody to it, but if i had to stop in the middle or go one number after the other due to the listener not hearing me right id literally forget the number order.
The moment as the guy says to the german girl "you can do it"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 after so many "can's" I can not stop laughing😂😂😂😂- can you understand they count the can with their fingers because at the end they can not ask.....😂😂😂😂 ( I m joking) I would be out soon it s kind of difficult but funny
Yonghee realmente é muito inteligente! Com certeza ele iria se sair muito bem nessa também! Parabéns🦌
This was hilarious 😂. Awesome

bro, the guy did extremely well, I would have forgotten half way >.
"I'm sorry" "Oh okay"
I like how the Japanese and the Indian girls are having fun together 🤣
I feel like "can you cannacan as a cannacan cannacan" would have been a better way for the first girl to seperate it all. That way you're just remembering "cannacan" 3 times
This is what I suggested, nice.
that lvl 3 i dunno if i could've gotten that one out and im a native English speaker so major respect to that 1st guy who not only got it out but was fairly close to the original
This is so hilarious for some reason 😂😂😂
i love it so much!
Even i had trouble with level 3 until i heard it enough times. I had to think about like a job as someone who puts things in cans.
