This video was heavily inspired by @TeetsTV and @SovereignGuides amazing's valorant breakdowns. Since I think they are the best at this for Valorant, I decided to bring something similar to CSGO and CS2

as a fairly high level chess player, 4:11 is most likely directly inspired by chess. It's a gambit. It gives the T's a positional advantage whilst basically guaranteeing that there's only 1-2 people on A, a site that is notoriously difficult to retake if a rotation hasn't started. This is the intentional trade of pieces. They may know who their A player is and have made the decision that boRUP is a less valuable player to the Ts (or is more valuable when dead) whilst NertZ is a more valuable player and is more important to be alive for the CTs. It also utilizes the concept of piece activity in chess. This situation can be viewed as boRUP and NertZ being pieces of equal value, but be arguing that boRUP is a more active piece than NertZ (who is being activated only now) and, as he is doing more things, he is more important to kill than any other piece that is presently on the board. This also clearly uses the idea of zones of the maps being their own maps to play on. They've conceptualized a fundamental difference between Connector/B and Mid/A. They're making these tiny tactical plays because it's an opening that they've developed for that site presuming that they have 5 pieces and the enemies only have 2 or maybe 3. If you have 5 pieces and they have 2 or 3, it makes a lot of sense to trade pieces off. Trading into a 4v2 or a 4v1 is an instant improvement to their odds, and trading into a 3v1 or 3v0 is also great for their odds and are measurably better (3v0 indicating a won game, meaning it would win the game of taking map control and they can carry on to the next zone). In another view, they aren't really gambitting anything, they are converting the game into an endgame with a material advantage. Your 2 top fraggers in a team are your strongest pieces, your last 3 are basically your pawns. They traded for something that could either be a pawn or a queen using a pawn. This leaves the last player(s) to be most likely their pawns. Having two queens and 2 pawns left, you're guaranteed to win the site even if they have another queen on that site.

@@_AGONOR I'm 2000 elo in rapid I should also make a good mention that it's not a coincidence that the round immediately after the timestamp involves boRUP dying to NertZ in a predictable and avoidable fashion before being promptly traded. It's also not a coincidence that Astralis fought so hard to trade that when most teams would've just suppressed connector and try to take A quickly instead of staying fairly passive until the exact moment that NertZ died.

Prefer this one or something around 30min over the long one as while I was able to watch the first 30 min of the long one but it took too long for the payoff for me so I wasn't able to get through all of it

astralis embaressed themselves there. they get a pick long to playground and 2 people just lurk in toilets. that's a waste. should've peaked agressivly towards party/connector.

Have to do it that way bc the game footage has the live caster audio in it which would make it impossible to hear the analysis. You know what CS sounds like, it’s not a big deal for how much effort it takes to either strip the caster audio or re-record from the replay
