in reference to the "overly complicated bars" opinions, I feel like Em knows that there is a part of his fanbase that live for those bars and peeling back the layers, and picking up on all the subtle nods and references and double/triple/quadruple entendres and appreciating the skill it takes to make it all flow the way he does. He will even sometimes turn right around in the next line and break it down for those he knows wont catch it.

He goes after anyone who gets ultra butt hurt over an initial reference. He’s always done that. If you respond, he doubles down. Caitlin publicly cried on TV years ago and tried to cancel Eminem for a quick mention. Plus he wanted to bring up the trans topic and needed a jump off point. Also Eminem’s middle name is Bruce after his dad and was going to be called that until his dad left when he was two months old - and Bruce was Caitlin’s birth name. They were both named Bruce and ‘changed their names’ to shed an old identity they no longer wanted to be tied to. AND it works on the level of him being in the generation that for 50 years or however many years they watched Bruce Jenner win Olympic medals in men’s events and cheered him (when Bruce) on. He (Bruce) was on Wheaties boxes and in commercials as Bruce and then around the age that Eminem is right now came out as trans and changed her name to Caitlin. Confusing asf to even type all that so I can only imagine Gen X being confused asf too.

Good album. This is what happens when Em is rapping with purpose instead of just putting things out to stay relevant. Context matters on the album, it’s conceptual, and cause of that, he sounds focused. Even the song with Skyler I enjoy, and I hate their collabs normally. But because the song was made with calculation and purpose, it’s really fitting. Glad to hear him again.

This is a Eminem Shady 6.9 CLASSIC. This album pushes back at what has becomes societies norms not just to poke fun of, but to pose the questions so many of us can’t raise for fear of being “cancelled” by this “culture”. Yes, what he’s saying can be jarring, but thats the point. Obviously we respect all the “protected” classes of people but at the same time fuck them just like the rest of us!

To someone who grew up in the Era it brought me back to late 90s early 2000s listening to Em in my discman lost in em lyrics. Its Refreshing. I feel the hiphop world needs this right now. AMazing project. Its like the OG HUNGRY SLim Shady advanced lyrically. We never really drove around listening to EM. But when an Em album dropped it was an EVENT. We sat and listened for hours, rewinding on some wait...l what the fuck he say type shit. THE GOAT of lyrics in hiphop. No one can tell me otherwise.

(HUGE) always have been.. & i'm proud to say that my Daughter recently graduated from the very same "Lincoln High School" that me & Eminem BOTH dropped out of, nearly 30 years ago.. (i even use to work at the same BurgerKing, hung out & worked at the same Hot Rock Cafe, & my Mom's BEST FRIEND lived right there on the corner of Dresden, right down the street from him, just 1 block south of 8 Mile, when u turn right , RIGHT after that ToysRus, that was just after Tycoons) .. HOWEVERRRRR.. i've ALSO been a pretty big fan of ICP, since about the 3rd grade.. (while friends of mine had the "New Kids on the Block" displayed in their rooms, i had ICP up on my walls, with ppl like Dre, snoop, Jodeci, & MarkyMark & the Funky Bunch, & what-not) .. MY POINT IS THIS.. i know of ANOTHER CD that's out, where ppl need to listen to the WHOLE thing, start to finish.. it's 1 of ICP, doing a parody of "The Wizard of Oz".. it's called "Wizard of the HOOD"!! 💕 (& it's top notch 🏆)

I was with you up until the end. The album is genius. It’s a literal time capsule. I can’t adequately express the nostalgia I felt listening to Brand New Dance. Then, Shady’s comment on Guilty Conscience 2 hits you like a truck. Inserting modern day name-drops, events, literally contributes to one of the major themes of the album: time. Not to mention expanding upon the idea of time to explore both its cyclical and fleeting nature. Album of the Year.
