The rarest I have had was the Morgott spirit in the battle zone! He's one of those regular enemies from Stormveil before he turns into morgott!

I think there one more thing (probably bugged) related to that mechanic - for example in Elphael (probably best grace is Prayer Room) the golden eyes affects most of the Cleanrot Knights, when it occurs. Possible due to RNG seed copy paste or an RNG race condition. In one spawn I saw 3 out of 4 Cleanrot Knights with the golden eyes which, as match says, is pretty impossible.

I would semi-farm the golems on the way to the giant pot sometimes, and I always wondered why they would sometimes drop a ton of runes when I first started playing.

I kept thinking the owls had them.. but it was just their eyes naturally glowing in the dark... and I felt really bad for killing them impulsively...

During my first playthrough after the game had just come out I noticed the owls glowing eyes and thought they were special somehow. So I avoided ever killing any owls. Now, after playing through multiple times with multiple characters, it's just become a habit not to kill them.

Their eyes always glow at night, but they don't have the rune bonus.

Did you notice the skulls that drop golden runes can get the effect too? I swear I see them gain the effect too that's different from the normal white glow.

That means they'll drop a consumable rune when you break them but it's always rune 1

As far as I know, only skulls with golden eyes will drop runes.

I can't believe you didn't mention Jellyfish. Yes they can get the golden eyes, and they're the only enemy that has 5 EYES. Apart from Gargoyles etc who can't get it. If you guys wanna see it for yourselves ingame go to Castle Morne, there's a bunch of Jellyfish before the Lionine Misbegotten, pretty good odds you'll see it there

Non-boss gargoyles can spawn with a gold eye (not 2 like everything else). I uploaded a pic on the fextralife wiki. I've never seen jellyfish spawn with gold eyes.

Yeah, I got one to spawn a while ago (below stormveil castle at the graves there's a heap of them). It looked pretty darn stupid 😂

I'm pretty sure the silver ball that spawns at Lenne's Rise (the ball rune farm) has this double/extra runes ability bc twice now I had an instance where I realized "wait that was WAY more runes than I had"

It absolutely DOES have the chance to spawn with golden eyes. I farmed there on my first playthrough up to around lvl 75 or 100 and it happened multiple times. I always found it fkn funny cuz it's a fkn ball/rock/boulder/whatever lol

I was doing the bird farm one time, it normally drops 13K with each kill, 17K with the gold scarab and pickled foot, but there was an instance where I saw it drop 80K for me. Idk if it was a bug or what, because it happened right when my pickled foot ran out, and haven’t seen a huge amount of runes pop up like that since. Maybe it has something to do with the gold eyes thing, but I don’t remember noticing gold eyes on the bird, or if they even get them.

Yesterday i got the insanely low chance of having the Ripple Crescent drop from a gold eyed Albinauric, considering the drop rate on that i think thats the rarest thing i’ve had happen so far

I remember walking into Seluvis' gimp dungeon once, and the collapsed Omen Killer had gold eyes. Tried like hell to kill it, but no dice.

When I'm rune farming the ledge in Moghwyn, I've noticed the albinauric on the left closest to the SoG seems to have glowing eyes more often than the others. It's not a visibility thing either, since you can see the glow on all of them including the ones in the back even when they're facing away.

What's the sample size? (How many times did it happen) Because that's probably just random chance being random, and one of the enemies randomly being picked more often.

@@iveharzing I'd say that I see glowing eyes on one of the albinaurics once every 10-15 runs. When it happens, it's the front one 80% of the time. I've done a couple hundred or so runs, so it would be nuts if it was if it's pure coincidence.

i guess it's not a chance, but a minute in day/night cycle when eyes glow and runes roll. Noticed it several times, always glowed two enemies in a row

I've gotten 66k runes from one bird death before instead of the normal 12k in Mohgwym palace. I wont if the golden eyes thing has to do with that as well.

I like how it tracks the eyes of different enemies, the slugs with glowing antenna are kind of cute

I had one spawn naturally in the Shaded Castle when I went to grab the painting. I decided he got to live because yes, they are cute.

Last week or so i did another playthrough, got into seluvis puppet room and the nox monk puppet had golden eyes but i couldn't kill it obvisiosly, elden ring likes me so much it gives one of the rarest effects to Things i cant kill

Been watching since deathmode summoner. Its creazy seeing how elden ring has propelled your channel as well as seeing how the production quality has increased. huge congrats on 100k subs!

I've seen goldeneyed slugs in the subterranean inquisition chamber, it was adorable

The Rolling Spheres can have them too I noticed on the rare occasion farming runes at the one by the tower in Caelid, goes from 1.9k to about 9k

Its funny that I started googling what this effect does simply because one of the 3 puppets that killed and stared down pidia had them - even though you can not attack them in this area.

i actually saw a jellyfish with the golden eyes once. but how do you ask? since they're amorph blobs? they have 4 glowing dots surrounding their main circular body distributed in the shape of the cardinal directions on a compass. it was one of the two jellyfish right outside the Tombsward Catacomb in the weeping peninsula, FYI.

always feels good to get a golden eye enemy, especially if they drop big runes to begin with. on my 4th run, had the troll at stormgate spawn with golden eyes, and lemme tell ya, 5k goes far at level 1

I'm a random ER player that tried to seek out info regarding this from several ER communities and I've gotten absolutely no help at all. What tool did you use to find this function? Also, thank you for making a mod for this as I will be documenting which enemies can and can't spawn with gold eyes (I see you used my pics for Rya and the headless troll knight on your mod page!). Recently got into Elden Ring, 4 completions over the course of a month of playing and it's been a blast. Been watching your vids since I started playing and I love the quickfire style, always entertaining!

@@KtonV First playthough took me around a week of on-off playing cause I was busy with work but the sessions would last 5-6 hours each time. Racked up 40 hours before I had the first completion (Age of the Stars ending walkthroughs were very helpful)

Interesting video and really cool feature of Elden Ring. I think it would be cool if it would occur a bit more often and if it would be possible on bosses, too.

Finally have an answer, feels like i've been waiting forever

thank you for this!!! i was playing yeaterday and it popped in my head as to why some enemys eyes glow, i didnt think of how random it was but seem to not do more damage but deff have more deffense when attacking, i figured it was just to make them harder to fight didnt think they gave more runes when killed!

Interestingly enough, there is one headless enemy I know for a fact can have glowing eyes as I have witnessed it in unmodded ER. The unique headless virgin abductor that can be found on mt. Gelmir, I witnessed it, and was murdered by it too, so I missed out on getting a screencap.

Saw 4 yesterday on a quick run-through of carian study hall testing out weapons so not impossible by any means. Also those silver blobs can have it in nokstella though there's no way to tell if they have it or not other than runes.

0:42 now that's a game of the year if statement if I've ever seen it!

I don't think it does but it sure feels like whenever I use a high arcane build in my playthroughs, I see a lot more rune skulls and gold eyed enemies, I one time had the Red Wolf at Ranni's mountain top church place wherever had golden eyes while the yellow leaves were falling, it gave me about 90k runes when I killed it

I had one occurrence in Seluvis dungeon of golden eyes spawing on the Omenkiller puppet.

The Crucible Knights regular mobile variation just before the valiant gargoyles duo can also have the Rune Buff. I was pretty surprised when i saw this

Yeah I've noticed enemies with glowing eyes. Great when you're farming runes and you get a little more than normal lol

I once played with a friend and we had three enemies that had glowing golden eyes near eachother, that was in liurnia between the academy and the dectus lift, as we tried to go to the church there were some knights that ride on horses and three of these knights on the horse had glowing eyes and gave 5 times the runes, and i freaked out of how rare that is while i explained the golden eyes to my friend, truly a legendary moment for me in elden ring conaidering now i know the chances of this happening

The big birds in moghwyn palace can get them as well. One bird gave me 55k runes. Happened twice by the grace overlooking the cliff

My favorite is the ball, yes from the early game farm. Drops nearly 10k...every blue moon.

In my 5th character playthrough I had one of the puppets around pidia had golden eyes, but they didn't disappear ever.

At the farm spot in mohgwyn palace, I had 4 or 5 golden eyed albinarics spawn at the same time. The rune payout was like 150k or higher.

saw it pretty often when grinding for runes.

Seen plenty of normal enemies with this but didn't know bosses had it too, noice

It does not work on bosses unless you mod it onto them, it only works on minibosses if they appear as an enemy. Sorry if that was unclear

Yesterday I was farming the Vulgar Militiamen in Dragonbarrow for a new build and got three in a row. I didn't think it was that rare, then saw this... Wow...

There has to be some kind of rising chance to these things or something. I’m at the cloister of rot and 3 of the 6 pests in the group all have gold eyes. My run before that only 1 had golden eyes. My run before THAT had 2 with golden eyes! Either I have the most insane luck or more likely there is some way to affect the chances of it we don’t understand yet.

Had the eyes appear on the dolls used by that creepy doll keeper. So annoying but interesting as I dunno if you can ever kill them

I kid you not, the albinauric ghosts in Ordina, Liturgical town before the evergaol can have the golden eyes as well.

The balls in Dragonbarrow/Nokstella can also have the glowing eyes effect for some reason, despite not having any eyes.

I see em on the albinaurics when I'm farming all the time. I once got like 4 of em to have gold eyes

early game when i was farming the giant in limgrave for some easy levels and it had golden eyes

The first time I killed the bird at mogwyns palace farm it had the glowing eyes lol

Once I found 4 golden eyed enemies in a row in the alb farm

I don’t know if there’s a hidden mechanic or if I just got REALLY lucky, but I got on elden after not being on it for 2-3days and after getting on I was walking in the walls of volcano manner, and For some reason EVERY single snail-snake thingy was golden eyed up until the next grace past the bloodhound knight.

Rya in her snake form can have golden eyes too

This can also happen the the bird exp farm

The first time I encountered Zorayas she had these golden eyes

i thought it was just a frenzied flame madness sort of thing. the "gold" might just be the essence of the frenzied flame in them, and we see that those that suffer from madness tend to have exploding fire eyes. maybe (golden) frenzied flame eyes are what happens when a non tarnished entity is suffering from madness. i usually see it by that one frenzy flame tower where you get the howl of shabriri, and usually on the giant rat. creatures that can't go mad build up the frenzied flame inside them, and bosses (exceptionally powerful beings) are immune to the effects (except Gideon, because he is a tarnished) (horah loux might be immune because he became an elden lord)

I find it unlikely to be due to Frenzied Flame, as the Frenzy eye glow is far "deeper" shade of yellow with traces of black compared to this light yellow color, and come off less as a "glow" and more like literal flames inside their eyes, with small licks of flame dancing around unlike these which just have a shimmering effect.

I no shit got two golden eye enemies at one when farming the haligtree knights. They both were standing next to each other outside the grace and game me a bunch of xp.

I thought it was a mechanic where if other players died to a particular enemy then that enemy would get golden eyes in your world. I probably would've preferred that.

I was playing Elden ring last night doing the giant ball roll off the cliff in Caelid. Strange thing was one of the times I killed the ball I got a bunch runes from that one time. I’m assuming it’s this mechanic even this thing has no eyes.

If I recall correctly, Bamco has specific unban time windows, but you'll have to delete inappropriate data to be allowed back online. They give no explanation for "inappropriate" data, and they generally demand you clear all data to be sure the infraction is over with. I will say, Steam should allow you to make a family account share or something similar. People used that to bypass server bans all the time back in Souls days, and it also had a side effect of getting auto-summoned way easier in DS3.
