How effective are termite bait stations Sentricon Bait Station Formosan Review by Building Science

Of all the Bait Stations I reviewed prior to purchasing these, so far the Sentricon System appears to be the best. They claim they can last up to 7 years, which can save your home and money. Like I said in the video, I would not solely depend on bait stations to protect your house from termites. Check out the other videos I have in the Pest Control Playlist on this channel and thanks for subscribing to Building Science.

I got sold on these when my problem was carpenter ants. I never had termites. I connected with a local exterminator on KZread with a big following. My stations were installed in another state at a vacation home. The company implied they carry the bait back to the colony and share. termites die. Not true, the termites die because they can't molt. In that two year period they could have already eaten your house. The company I used had a 60 day notice policy after the one year contract if you wanted to cancel. They also told me they only check them once a year. So in order to get them checked I would have been past my 60 day notice. The woman also tried her best to get me not to cancel, that the company would make repairs for any termite damage. My contract did not say that, my only warranty was a retreat only because I had a wood eating pest. I had carpenter ants. So this was a big waste of $700 for the bait stations. As for my carpenter ants they were just doing basic pest spraying, that was another $500. We ended up spraying with Tarus SC and got rid of the carpenter ant problem. My pest control friend told me the bait in the station looked old. I might get one more year out of it. Unless you have something different I wouldn't count on 7 years. Mine are in damp clay soil and it may have caused them to degrade. The company had made an appointment to come back and get the stations, they never showed. That was three months ago. I've left them in the ground.
