How Effective Are Cooper Discoverer STT Mud Terrain Tires OffRoad? Land Cruiser Tackles Muddy Trails

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

So many tires choices, but which is the right one. On this episode we take my Toyota Land Cruiser along with a friends Toyota 4Runner on a trip to some super muddy trails of Kentucky. Are mud terrain tires a necessity or can you get away with all terrains?

    Hey Dude; a pair of Maxtrax and a shovel and some elbow grease are the bare essentials needed, when tackling muddy tracks. Lowering your tire pressures after you get stuck, is a learning process.... well done!

    Dude, keep doing LC100 off-road videos. You're about the only KZread person doing them. I'm hoping more and more people get into off-roading the 100 series which means more companies might start making cool off-road accessories for me and my hundy. Liked and Subscribed. Keep up the great work! Sidenote: I'd recommend shorter titles. (Ex: Landcruiser vs stock 4runner in the mud) Highly recommend putting Landcruiser in the first 3 words of the title so it pops up in everyone's face looking for Landcruiser videos.

    If you are gonna do more camping in your truck then look at getting an auxiliary fuel burning heater for camping overnight in your vehicle. It does make it nice and toasty (Webasto ST2000). I find it better than sleeping in a roof top tent. Also before then get a hat to wear over your head or to keep the heat in

  • @prestonarnold5392

    Idk if i'd say it's better, but you could say heavier vehicle and a wider track are better in mud. Better chance to sink down to solid ground and wider track means not in smaller vehicles ruts. However, the MT tires are a world of difference. The 4runner would've been fine with MT tires no doubt.

    Boo yah hundy! Fun vid and agree with the other comments - keep the hundy offroad content coming! Are the 4R tires really A/Ts? Kinda look like all seasons trying to pass off as A/Ts. I'm guessing he would have done a lot better even with better A/Ts. Remind me: Looks like you have 33" M/Ts with no lift?

    It really depends on what type of driving you do if you need mts or not. ATs are for people who spend most of their time on asphalt and gravel roads and do some offroading. Their a tad cheaper, better handling, gas mileage, less road noise and also last about 1/3rd longer vs mts. You need mts of you spend most of your time offroad and do serious tracks.

  • @maddawgnoll

    @maddawgnoll

    2 жыл бұрын

    ATs suck in bad weather, snow, even the least amount of mud compared to a MT. Even the best AT isn't all that great except on pavement. I'll never run ATs again after I wear out my goodyears. Going back to MTs and most likely the cooper stt pro because I'm not impressed with the bfg performance anymore. I have the cooper evolution with studs for winter (I'm in Northern Montana just south of Canada, 4 miles actually, and it's an ice sheet on my road) and I cannot say a bad thing about those tires. They perform better than I expected, and we're more affordable. Plus they were the only studable mt I could locate.

    I have 285 stt pros on a 2010 lifted fj cruiser. They are like paddle wheels, and don't pack up like other mud tires. I often leave it now in 2 wheel drive to do things I use to put it 4x4.
