I failed my CPC exam for the 3rd time in October 2022. The sad part is I made a 67 every. single. time. The first time I took it in person (150 questions). This was before they changed the test. The second time I took it online September 2022 (100 questions). This was after they changed the exam to have 100 questions. The third time I took it was in October 2022, in person. I just knew I did great. So after failing this last time I asked AAPC to review my exam. I just knew there was no way I got a 67 three times, on 3 different exams. They sent me someone else’s result breakdown for my online exam. After sending me mine results they said I need to focus on low scoring areas. The problem with this is they varied every test. So, I went into a depressive state. My husband ordered me the books, practice exams and 2 online test for 2023. I’m just touching the books today, March 25th 2023. Honestly I want to cry and give up. Thanks for posting your testimony. It is very encouraging.

Hey, thanks for sharing! You can do this…I’m about to test April 8, 23. MAS Coding here on YT, great resource and 321 code it books on AMAZON. Pricey but worth every cent! Heavy practice after each chapter and it simplifies challenging concepts…I’m using a 2021 edition, but look into it.

Thank you so much for your encouragement and testimony. I also took the exam twice and didn't pass. I had spent finances for my medical coding course and more finances for a course to show me how to pass the cpc exam. I was so devastated I couldn't look at my books to study again. Your video has inspired me to go back and study and take my exam again.

I went into this thinking it would be overall smooth sailing, especially being in medical field already and in my studies realized the difficulties. I joke and say it is like becoming a mini medical doctor and investigator, but I don't think it is a joke 😂 So far on my mock exams I am landing 75, but I am terrified for the actual exam. Even after two years I feel very ill equipped. I am glad I do have a good program and they push us to the core with everything and tell us how difficult it is, but prep you for real life simulation. Coding is hard.

If only you knew how much I needed this. Thank you 💖

Thank you So Much! I really needed to hear this. Took my First CPC Exam on June 11th in Gulfport, MS. And I Failed with a Score of a 49%. I was Embarrassed,Mad, I Cried, I felt like I did not Study hard enough. But the thing about my Results is that it showed a Percentage of the Areas of the CPC Exam On what I did Great and but most importantly what I Did Poorly in. So now I know what to expect of the test and I know what I need to work harder on.

Girl you blessed my soul!!!! When I tell you it was meant for me to watch this video. I’m also from the ATL too!!! I attend icode Academy started in September… your story sounds almost like me working in the medical field 18 plus years… and Chile I can see me doing something like that on my test writing in the book and forgetting to bubble in Lawd,, lol but I was feeling discourage. Wow!! I enjoyed everything you shared in this video! I failed my CCA exam and I just knew I was going to pass. I told myself that I got it and kept telling myself that this was going to be easy. Baby, let me tell you, I was wrong! lol, when I received my printout test results and saw my score - my whole mood changed. To pass the CCA exam, I had to get a score of 300 and I received a score of 281! I was 19 points away. I wasn’t discouraged but I was a little bit disappointed. Because I felt like I did all that study and practicing the coding for nothing. As you stated in your video, I didn’t give up. I’m going to study again and reschedule my exam in Jesus’s name. lol

Thank you so much for sharing this motivational story. I got results today which is 51%. I was so devastated. It was my second time. I took the test last October 2023. I was in community college for Medical Coding /Billing. I graduated in December of the same year. I admit was stress trying to take my courses, study for CPC exam and packing to move in November. 😮 So, I had a lot going on. I have spent so much money trying to get this down test down pat. I purchase AAPC practice exams and again three more today. I scheduled my next exam in thirty days. So, I’ll see how it goes. I know people have taken this exam five-seven times. But they didn’t give up and I won’t either. Thanks again for your words of encouragement. I so much needed this.😊

This video is such an encouragement for me, I have taken the CPC twice and did not pass and I have a Healthcare background. I felt so defeated, I did not look at my books for a few weeks. I understand what you mean by see it all the way through. What got me started was losing my job in the pandemic. Working is what caused me to put my CPC goals on hold, but now that I had no job, I had no excuses. So I started a course with AAPC. Spent my entire savings (and stimulus) on it during a rough and uncertain time in my life, so I'm determined to see it through. At this point I can't afford to lose anymore time or money. That's my motivation. Still taking the course, but I'm hoping to take the exam by the end of this year.

I went to KZread typed in how to pass AAPC CPC exam after failing and your video popped up and it was everything I needed to hear at this moment. Thanks for the encouragement. I’m not sure if you saw the comment I left under this video a few months ago, but I was in the same position! I had failed my test for the third time and just like you said, felt DEVASTATED !!! Just like you ….I felt confident and to find out I didn’t pass for the 3rd time, made me become very discouraged. I didn’t know what else to do, how to proceed, what I needed to work on or study. BUT after I went through those emotions, I threw away all the negative thoughts and kept going. Reading the same material over and over was tough and I had so much resistance with throwing in the towel but I kept it pushing. I took my fourth test last weekend and passed! I say all that to say this…. You are not alone! Keep going! No matter how hard it is. Don’t be discouraged. You got this my sister! If I can do it , you can do it. Much love and success to you! ❤️

medical coders in the Philippines who took the aapc exam only trained for 3 months 3 x a week. yet so many of them thought the exam was easy. In America, training usually lasts like 6 months to a year but many failed. I think it has something to do with the curriculum and how it's being taught to the students. I think medical coding in the Philippines is taught in a very straightforward way, fast paced but easy to comprehend. plus we focus more on how to pass the exam instead of the actual work itself.

Thank you for this video. It popped up first thing after I got back on KZread AGAIN to study MORE since I failed my first exam 5 days ago. I just found out yesterday. I felt so confident and just knew I had passed. But I made a 67% out of 70% which came down to 4 questions!! Do you think that scheduling a second exam a week later is too soon? I have to get this certification so I can get me and my son away from our situation and I really wanted to get certified before he goes back to school. Or do you think I should take more time to study and gain a little more knowledge? I think my weak point was the ICD-10. It said there would only be 10 questions for the ICD-10 but it seemed like a lot more to me.... Again thank you so much and I am sorry for rambling on.

I have really bad test anxiety as well and I took the first 50 question today. I was ok during the first 25 questions but then time started to run out I wish the test wasn't timed it really make the anxiety worse and it's expensive to keep retaking. I ended up having to choose any answer for the last 25 questions then I had 14 mins left so I went back to go over the 25 that I choose any answer on. I'm so upset with my self.

Idk if it's the verbiage in the test or if I'm overlooking certainwords.. I'm not going to give up but who has $400 to keep taking test?.. I've been in the medical field on & off for 21 years. Left & got my cdl license but came back to the medical field but dam!!!

@@MJTheCodingCoach I got my results and I didn’t pass by only 2% 😭 I honestly have a feeling I know where I messed up, but now that I got my results, I am eager to jump back in and retake the test. I will pass this test the 2nd time cus I’m so determined to get this certification🙏🏽

Thank you for sharing , I have been to nervous to bother taking the exam. I passed CNA and LPN ( long story) but after graduating a coding certification program I just felt I didn't learn enough to take the exam. I too have been in adjacent fields 15 yrs.but this online education idk I learned enough about coding .I think books expire Dec so should I bother ? Single mum 4 no money ,no current job so I can't afford to fail .please any hints or tips for me?

Allow being a single mom with no money to be your motivation to finish your coding certification. If you passed other exams, have faith that you will also pass this one. Start studying, look at KZread, take workshops and seminars to practice your skills. Nothing beats a fail but a try

How u passed 3rd time can u able to share it

I took the test and failed it twice. I'm heartbroken 💔. The second attempt I did worse than the first time, and i actually felt goodaboutmy answers. I don't understand what I'm doing wromg

I was freaking out paying for the test I feel like I can pass bit when taking it the panic begins

I also failed twice in CPC exam. I'm still continue my review my third attempt is this coming June 21 I'm confident that I can do it already

How did the third attempt go

How did you study for the exam. I've been in Billing for 20 years at same job...started at 19 but I want to now get into Coding to boost my qualifications and pay. Any recommendations on where to start to prepare for the test.

You should join my workshops. I also sent the link to my IG page, the content and videos are also helpful. I think your first start is to truly understand ICD10 coding and how to navigate through the book. If you click the link in my IG bio, you’ll find a study guide and 3 hr audio recording for the ICD10 Training Workshop I had. I studied by going to workshops, and I also took the course through the AAPC.

Thank you for sharing your amazing story!!!! I'm scheduled to take my online exam tomorrow. I have test anxiety. I'm not sure I'm ready and wonder if I should reschedule! I only get one try online and then have to pay 300 to take again, so that scares me! How do I know if I'm ready? Thank you!!

You never know if you’re ready until after you’ve passed!!!!!! Don’t overload your brain today, get sufficient rest for tomorrow. You’ve got this! Don’t second guess yourself and use process of elimination techniques.

@@MJTheCodingCoach Thank you so much for asking!! I ended up getting really sick with fever and cough the night before🥲🙃 So was forced to reschedule. Was sick for more than a week and then on a mini vacation with my husband so now it’s back to studying! I will keep you updated! Thank you again for checking😘 I know God’s timing is perfect!🙏🏼

i have to take in 10 days. I have been trying to take practice exams. 48 was my highest score but Im gonna do it anyway in the next three days. I waited way too long after my course. Over a year. Dont recommend it. Wish me luck!

I'm at the inpatient part of my program 🤦🏻‍♀️siiiiis let me tell you it has me feeling so overwhelmed and stressed 😥
