Brew and Howard have their weekly bonding time watching our latest episode of Mystery Morsels.
This week we’ve got…
The single bottle of coke that killed a healthy 22 year old man.
The dinner that robbed a woman of all four of her limbs.
The intruder that hid inside a woman’s lung for 28 years.
The single tortilla chip that unceremoniously ended a boy’s life.
And the one fatal mistake that turns any spaghetti dinner into a death wish.
And look! Howard has holograms now!

It started to get sore later, but I still thought nothing of it. Turned red and swollen, but I thought it was a spider or bug bite. Then it turned black and I started passing out. Couldn't keep anything down, not even water. My kidneys, pancreas and gallbladder had all stopped functioning. The only thing left was my liver. I got rushed to the emergency room, then care flighted to a bigger hospital where I was later told they had a surgical team ready to amputate my leg. At the last minute the surgeon made a call to first try an aggressive antibiotic treatment just to see if I responded. Thank God I did. They kept my organs shut down for a week to keep the infection from spreading, had me hooked up to machines, and I was unable to drink anything for nine days including water. It was the worst. They also gave me fentanyl. My sister had to sign a waiver. It made me hallucinate badly. They had to tie my hands to the bed with restraints. What I learned was clean every scrape and cut you get even if with just a swab of alcohol. Clean it and watch it closely to make sure it doesn't get infected.

I know this absolutely can't be good for me but I'm turning 37 next Dec 21st...always drank a lot of soda but especially in the past 10 years. BUT never that much that fast. 1.5 liters in 10 minutes is just INSANE!! Coke is bad to give you gas buildup...but IMO Dr. Pepper is 5 times worse even.

    1) If you have the tools to reliably catch fish, or the ability to make tools, you probably can make fire too. 2) most food we eat in our kitchen has been dead for a while, if you caught a wild fish and ate it straight away the amount of bacteria would be a lot lower. 3) is not uncommon in survival situations for people to get bacteria poisoning from eating meat or even drinking water. Nature is not safe.

Dang it. I was hoping this vid would give me an idea of why I've been coughing for the past 10 years, but I've had several x-rays that showed nothing so it probably isn't a seed. I miss being able to breathe easily. The relief she felt would have been immense.

Postnasal drip is a common cause of chronic cough, and its something that will never show on an xray or any other chest imaging

I had that for 2 years, I would have to clear my throat every minute, sometimes several times per minute, all day, every day for 2 years. Turns out it was post nasal drip caused by food sensitivities, which were likely caused by taking advil liquid gels for migraines on a daily basis for a few months(those are really bad for your stomach). You might have a leaky gut. Cut out milk, gluten and dairy products for a while and see if you improve. If you have gut issues from taking antibiotics or other medicines, get something called "gut-fx", and some good probiotics. They might help.

It depends on a lot of factors. For example, I’ve had a Alfredo tortellini get fuzzy mold after 12 hours, forgotten in an oven. On the other hand, I have no worries about eating pizza left out overnight if the box was closed and it didn’t dry out. Also, theoretically if you were in a completely sterile environment, and had properly cooked food within that, it would stay good for a lot longer than usual(not accounting for staleness). So a clean kitchen will affect the longevity of your leftovers.

Everything is destined to change in life, but some changes are not for the better. It’s the fallacy of evolution. Some changes DON’T benefit the individual, and in some cases actively harm them, but don’t obstruct survivability enough to cause death. I’m talking about the new video format, by the way.

i feel like the case with the flesh eating bacteria, this is why you always buy high quality meats and dont buy the cheap stuff because you have no idea what sketchy behavior was done to acquire that meat and the little safety standard they probably have to procuring it, so really watch out for where your meat is coming from
