And/Or, look inside of yourself and see if you have wounds that cause chasing tendencies, codependency, unworthiness, commitment/intimacy fears, etc. Rarely a person attracts a person with a running tendency without having some sort of subconscious belief or emotional wound that draws in a person with such an issue. But of course people don’t want to think about that; it’s much easier to believe that the other person’s behaviour is the only issue.

I could say that some people have been so hard on themselves to the point that they become runner, they get scared when you giving to much or start to express your need, you probably doesnt mean to become demanding but they start to feel the obligation to fulfil it and they feel they uncapable of it or the tendency of you leaving them. It sound a bit funny that they run because they afraid of your intimacy and how strong they feel toward you. I have alot of friends dealing with this issues and it is hard to change it cause it caused by deep wound in themselves they need to heal by trusting themselves first then trust the partner. I agree with @awwiawwi9977 the chasing tendency caused by past wound could be triggered when you meet runner or that you tend to be to vocal to your partner in the end after giving to much toward them. And the purpose of you two meeting probably is to understand that both of you have a wound to be healed. I agree that dealing with runner/ chaser is tiring, so yes leave them alone later to consider their action is good thing but understand the main reason why this happen is also important.
