How Does the Suzuki C50 Boulevard Handle on the Highway? | Motovlog #29

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

What's going on you guys?
In this video I take the Suzuki C50 onto the highway for a quick run and share my thoughts on how it handles. Ultimately, if you're looking for a decent highway cruiser or commuter, you can't go wrong with the Suzuki C50.
It definitely handles better than my Honda CB500X. Not too much buffeting, enough power to pass, although a 6th gear would be nice.
As always, thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe to stay up-to-date with my future videos.

I had a c50t a few years ago, it was easily capable of 2-up interstate travel. I never felt it needed a 6th gear which is something I hear for just about every bike with a 5 speed tranny. I also had a Yamaha Stratoliner (1854cc) and I heard people complaining that needed a 6th gear. I currently have a Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe, (1300cc V4), 5 speed. Perfectly fine.

Currently own an 08’ c50t and previously an 04’ Volusia 800. Zero complaints even two up interstate riding. Still has a good sporty throw to it and plenty of highway speed. If you’re sleeping on the c50 or Volusia, don’t. It will take you as long as you can take it.

I've had my 07 C50 for a good 6 years now and I gotta say, i've been pretty happy with it. However I just recently test rode a Honda VTX 1800 that a local guy here in town is selling and oh lord, I just fell in love with a different bike, lol. I'm gonna be buying it soon and probably keep my C50 for now unless someone offers me a good deal on it, because my wife fell in love with my C50 after we had our first date on it quite a few years back, and she'll fight really hard before I get rid of it. So here's to hoping that an 800cc medium weight bike won't be too much to handle for a starter bike for her. LOL

I got a 2006 C50 T about 4 years ago and love it. After 25 years without a bike I knew I wanted shaft drive and water cooled. Put on Michelin Commanders. Like you the windshields mess up the looks but I found a good low profile that has oem look mount hardware. Takes most of the buffering out. I don't take on highway often, usually run 40 to 50 and a lot of 35mph country road cruising. Great bike thats plenty big enough for interstate speeds.

My K9 C800 (aka 2009 model) started being shaky at around 145kph, but it was regardless of the load (saddle-bags / back-case / co-rider). The 2003 model does the same at 140kph.. These bikes are actually really great, as - considering their short 5-gears transmission - it handles very well starting 55kph (when I shift to 5th) and still have quite enough power until the afore-mentioned limit(-s). 6th gear might be nice, but I don't think I missed in more than 1/ 30 ocassions. It's also worth mentioning my GF and I toured Austrian and Slovenian Alps with it, fully loaded, but the bike did not feel like "sweating" or even "breathing heavier than usual". Really an excellent value for the money. BTW I'm curious about the VL1500LC and its performance.. Yeah, I plan to get one for next season.

My 2013 C50 needs more pep and acceleration since the lag and just doesn't have enough fun on quickness. 4th gear seems the fun performance gear..making the rest obviously not just enough. I really like the handling which smokes all other crusiers in this group of 1200cc and below. It TOTALLY DESTROY S ALL other conventional crusiers in handling. Like every Harley including the Slim soft tail which i do like but not as good inthe turns but the huge extra power can the better choice for stright line fun...my solution to my problem of response and faster from 2500 and up very evenly even with lower rpms hitting it..i got The Gman Industries Bully efc with matching custom air box fits under OEM chrome cover too along with the K&N hp air filter....The combo is a deal. The bike jumps and no lag i will keep it as the fun factor is met just right...

Suzuki C50 was the first bike I bought and even driven and that was the beginning of last year. Honestly its a large and powerful bike for a beginner and I am about 5'6. I have never driven a motorcycle before but I can honestly tell you I did not have any issues with the balance because of the size of the bike, in fact I actually bought an auto clutch for it because I did not want to really use the clutch all that much but it could be a beginner bike if you really want to ride a bigger bike and use it for travel. Though honestly most would not recommend it as a starter bike because of the 800cc thing. But honestly I think you will be just fine and I have driven it on the highway a couple of times and about 30 miles at the most.

It handles fine on the highway. It has a windshield so wind wouldn't really be that bad. Obviously if you want to wring it out at 160kmh then it might not be ideal. For 100-120 kmh, it runs fine and it's pretty comfortable at those speeds as well. If you're doing mostly highway though you'd probably want a bigger cruiser.
