Superstars is great I can’t lie, they missed a few mini games, and I really wanted at least BowserLand or WesternLand in this game, but for the most part, it’s a solid Mario Party, I give it a 8/10

The only downside for me is I’d like even more customisable game options: So exact amount of turns (as many or as little as you like), exactly what bonus stars are awarded for (and how many bonus stars, but still options for random star awards), how much stars cost, how much blue and red spots are worth, how much it costs to steal a star, how much each item costs etc. Also the ability to make mini game “playlists” so you can select a specific list of mini games for a specific game. I think all of those options would make it endlessly replayable.

In my opinion, adding one or two board as a DLC would be cool. Adding Koopa's Tycoon Town and Shy Guy Express would be a neat touch. This Game has so much potential to become the best Mario Party game if they add some boards to it. Love your vids as always man. Appreciate your works so much.

As most ppl are saying more boards would make this probably the best. Minigames are a bit unbalanced per console as mp8 9 10 have barely any. Hopefully the DLC adds more.

DLC wishlist: Original voice pack (Miss!, Chance Time!, etc.) Any costumes at all Chilly Waters, Western Land Unorthodox character picks (E. Gadd, Geno, Lady Bow, etc.) Any extra minigames Partner mode More stickers! Settings to increase/decrease music volume Set fast text speed on by default online Let players inspect the board during another player's turn online If just a few of these could be done, this could easily be the best mario party of all time for me. 👍🏻

Honestly I feel like if it had a few more boards and adding a few more options and balancing tweaks (aka turn pity coins off for Minigames, be able to turn off lucky spaces) this could actually be a contender for best game in the series Though I still think the game is a solid 8/10 with what is has now

Good video! I definitely agree with you about the "universal mechanic" idea -- the day/night cycle in 6 and cruise theme in 7 add a lot of personality and cohesion to those games, and that's something I felt Superstars lacked a bit as a greatest hits compilation. However, online play was a fabulous addition, and I think my perception of this already solid game could rise over time with additional content.

I’ve been having a blast with this game but I do have some gripes. I wish there were more boards, and I wish there were more items. I loved the item variety in Mario Party 3 and I wish more of those items made it into this game

MP3 definitely has the best items along with MP6

6 is still my favorite mainly for the complexity of the boards and their gimmicks as well as the different things that happen in the day and night cycles, and plus using the orbs on spaces and watching people get screwed over by them is fun.

Fantastic video. Mario Party was the first non-handheld console game I played as a kid. This new installment is a blessing, and your video articulates amazingly its high points.

Nice to see that this was uploaded on my B-day. I got this game as a birthday gift along with the pre order of the three new Pokémon games from family. Great in-depth review. I've been playing the mini games and leveling up to get stuff at the toad shop.

A few things regarding online. You can voice chat, with the Nintendo App on your phone. (The Switch doesn’t have a built-in mic, so you wouldn’t be able to voice chat otherwise) when you’re in a lobby, there’s an option to start voice chat. The way the online is structured, you do need to exit the whole game in order to switch to the online portion. It basically switches to an entirely different version of the game, specifically made for online. That’s just the way it works.

I remember playing the first Mario Party at my friends house with his family back in 1998. Has always been one of my most cherished memories. This game reminds me of those times, and I have no complaints. I hope for DLC, but either way, I can now show my daughter what Mario Party is all about.

@@KrazyKai64 some of my least favorite boards thanks to how similar they all feel, arguably the worst lineup of Minigames in the series since most of the classics are in Mario Party 2 while the ones here aside from a select few are terrible because of being too short or the other things that make Minigames suck (and obviously joystick rotation.) has a good song lineup though, but it really feels like they were finding their footing

The Question "Why does this Channel not have 100.000+ Subscribers?" comes to my mind every time I watch a video if this dude!

My only gripe with this game is the fact that Mario Party DS was completely snubbed and practically erased from existence Literally no reference or mini game to it!! And it’s an amazing game!!

This game may lack extra modes, but Super focused so much on extra modes that it neglected the main experience, so I'm not complaining.

Amazing review and video like always! A lot of what you said is very true and agreeable and I think that this game is amazing too and these kinds of reviews are why you deserve so many more subscribers than you already have, you go over all the good things and bad things about games when ranking or reviewing them

I think they took it too far with the minimalistic and clean graphics. Horrorland during the day looks and feels very depressing on Superstars. And during the night it lost at least 50% of its charm without all its original lights and chaotic board decoration. Same goes to Spaceland. The original Spaceland looks absolutely stunning and fun, with lights everywhere, board decorative items squished amongst each other, messy. The new Space land looks too clean and tidy.

The amount of subscribers this guy has is criminal... he deserves at least 5 million. He puts WAY more effort into his videos than most people, he's WAY funnier than most gaming youtubers, and he does his job just as well as other Nintendo Gaming youtubers so he should have way more subs

Kinda sad that Mario Party couldn’t find success again without copy and pasting boards and minigames from previous games. This game is basically a remake

Despite the lack of extra modes in Superstars, it is still amazing overall and I thoroughly love it. Having come from your original Mario Party ranking video, I can honestly agree. Might have put DS up a place or two, and 6 in first as my personal favourite, I do respect and understand the rankings. I have much love for the series overall though. And while I have clear favourites, I can even understand what the worse games tried to do.

This just proves that the old formula works better than anything else they've tried to do since. Rolling numbers higher than a 6 on larger maps, having more things to consider and decisions to make in a given turn, and not being forced to move around a straight path as a group (like in MP 9 and 10). Please just release a new MP that's like this one but with new maps, playable characters, items, mini games, and some light single player content.

It boggles the mind that Nintendo STILL hasn’t announced any DLC for this game. It would definitely sell because it’s MORE Mario Party. And it won’t even take the amount of time it takes to create new boards bc they can just use old ones.

While I love the old Mario Parties, I cannot deny that Super Mario Party did a bunch of things that oozed with charm which I kinda was missing in this one. Like the main game in Super Mario Party had an actual hub, a form of single player story with unique dialogues for various characters, not to mention the amount of characters that you could play as is pretty amazing. After spending a while with the various modes, it also has a lot of variety there. from the regular party modes you also got partner party which revamps all the existing boards practically doubling the amount of boards that way. The River adventure and minigame mode are both fun for multiplayer but as a single player you even get the challenge road mode yet which is a bigger callback to Mario Party 1 than the entirety of Superstars for me. The rhythm and other minigame modes add even a bit of more extra content alongside being able to collect stickers which -fair- don't do anything interesting, but it's fun how you can have like a trivia quiz with Birdo and get them rewarded here and there for conquering the other modes. The new dice mechanic is also adding a bit of strategy overall which is playing more even into the randomness of the game which is amusing to see (I still shout at my screen when an NPC randomly gets the golden block and a star in there, hehe. XD) Kinda a shame that not many people seem to commend Super for how much content it delivered and put Superstars so high up despite seemingly not even remotely delivering as much content as the original games that it's based on.

I feel pretty much the same. Superstars has the makings for possibly the best Mario Party game ever...yet the lack of content both on the number of boards, characters, modes to play and maybe even the lack of more unique items or spaces kind of lessens the overall package. If Nintendo continues to support the game, adds some characters and boards , then maybe it can become the best, cause it really has a tremendous foundation.

Good stuff bro. But dang I can't put this game above MP2, not until they bring back costumes

I wish they added Skyjinks and Magma Mayhem from MP9 I swear those minigames were actually fun. As well as Spike Ball Scramble, Snake Block Party, Ice Slide You Slide, and Peepa Panic from MP10.

this game is amazing, and honestly it has a lot of potential to be supported by dlc for the next couple of years. Maybe an expansion from each era, like a 64 expansion and gamecube one. Nintendo has no idea how much mario party nerds like myself would splurge on dlc for this game. But honestly i’ve been addicted to this game ever since i got it, it’s great that nintendo is finally listening to the fans. :)

My gf doesn't like playing Super Mario Party after playing Superstars. I told her this game is more like what I grew up with. I really wish I had a gamecube to show her Mario Party 6. I feel like there was just so much to do and perfect variety in items, maps, and minigames.

Supstars is great! I just feel like it needs 2 more boards and some more playable characters, my family would always pick the under appreciated characters like shy guy, koopa trooper and boo.

They remove koopa troopa so All he does is wave a flag around at the start of the Board before toad takes over anyways. Could’ve picked a different coloured koopa Like a red one even

The game has a lot of potential for patches and DLC. Personally I wish they add orbs, reduce lucky spaces, update with more items such as the Bowser Suit, Bowser phone, Reverse Mushroom (even if its nerfed), Koopa Card and make the dueling glove (and have the possibility to duel over stars), plunder chest, the boo bell more accesible and the Golden Pipe more unlikely to obtain in shops. Obviously more minigames and boards would be nice too. The game is good but its way to easy again. If they fix its issues it can easily surpass MP3 as the best Mario Party of all time.

i feel like superstars was the smash ultimate of the mario party series, perfecting the core gameplay in which mario party was best known for, but also lacks more variety and extra content which the mario party games ranked higher than superstars had

Small character roster: I'm bout to end this man's whole career

The only problem is that they should've added more boards, at least 6 or 7, but everything else is perfect. There are many good minigames selected here, the boards are unique to one another and are all classics and just fun overall. And best of all, finally online with other people online (I don't know why I feel like people are as impressed and talk about it much as I do).

Everyone loves 6 and 3, while i never played them, i never saw them in a store

Seriously this game blew me away, the only thing here I can complain about is that I wanted western Land and Waluigi island but that doest matter so much. Im glad they brought back Horror Land and Space Land (my favourite board in the whole series) I do also absolutely ador ethe minigame selection they did here. It’s an amazing game but in my opinion my favourite Mario party games are Mario party 8, 6, 7, 5, and Mario party ds. Those are the ones I played the most when I was younger

Mario party 7 deserves more attention, cool you putted it at #3

I wouldn’t be surprised if we had a GameCube dlc and a Wii dlc with new mini games for each and one or two new boards from each generation, just no Mario party 9 or 10 boards.

If I could add extra boards to Mario party superstars, I would add chilly waters and spiny desert from Mario party 3, and bowser land from Mario party 2 to really have a true final board to superstars.

I’d assume it would rank highly given how incredibly fun it is

As the boards are remake of previous versions, they should maybe create 2 new board designs. And character selection is more to be desired

It’s a good game and it’s way better than super Mario party. The only problem for me for this game is that 5 boards isn’t enough. I wish they could have added at least 8 boards. Still a good game. For the next Mario party I hope they have way more boards than just 4 or 5. Oh yeah also I think they should add more characters too. The mini games are amazing, and even though it is just 5 boards, it brings back a lot of memories and nostalgia

I feel like the option to make a custom minigame playlist to choose from when setting up a board game would go a long way. Why can't I play a game of mario party where we only play bowser minigames? Or maybe a match that's only bowser's big blast every single turn?

Mario Party Superstars is my 4th best Mario Party. If you saw the comment on his earlier video I say its between Mario Party 5 and Mario Party Island Tour.

yeah mario party super stars is fun. i like it.. even when my friends came by my house a week ago they said they had a lot of fun. they said they havent had this much fun since mario party 4 and mario party 6. and i like that it has my favorite mini games from mario party 4 and mario party 6. mario party 4 and mario party 6 were my favorite mario party games of all time and it still is today. for me mario party super stars gets 3rd place for me. my top 3 favorite mario party of all time is mario party 4. mario party 6 and mario party super stars. when super mario party 1st came out hype went away afther 3 days. and when mario party super stars came out i played sinces midnight releese and been playing it every day since then. i been playing it every day. i just love mario party super stars its really fun. it has that fun mario party 4 feeling.

I agree the best mario on the switch I play with my brothers and use discord! I could not with super mario party. Now DLC for mario party superstars YESSS get me another 100 games and boards on one platform so I can spend more time with my brothers. We try and limit it to not make a great time stale. But with more boards and games I could see us doing online match once a week!

I liked the “everybody in a car” concept, it might have been very limiting but I liked it that everyone was together and the driver would either make things good or worse for everyone else or just themself.

I wonder if he would be happy if tug of war would be a button masher

I know I know it’s great but I just wanted something new, something brilliant. I was entirely disappointed by the top 100 and when super mario party came out, I was so happy! This suddenly just brought down because I seriously expected more. I mean like it doesn’t have my favourite boards, which I don’t think is just mine. But even though I expected more, this is a very good remake and the creativity cannot be matched in this way.

Mario Party Superstars Needs More Minigames From Mario Party 8, 9 And 10

Snow Whirled is ridiculously easy when you're using a Pro Controller instead of a GameCube controller. You just rotate your thumb on the four buttons and boom

I like the game, but for me they added to many unnecessary luck spaces. This could sometimes really ruin a game session, when the other players got overpowered itema for free or more than 10 coins in these spaces. Why win Minigames, when you get a lot of money just like that? Also I don't like that the shop prizes are really cheap, especially because it's no big deal to get money in this game. Also sometimes first and second place at the time could buy a golden pipe, while third an forth couldn't. I think that's pretty unbalanced. But other than that I really like the games and hope ND-Qube is finally on the right path now! 😂❤

I feel the abundance of coin/items adds to the mayhem. Especially since since both gain and burn through coins rather quickly on some boards

I like it a lot... Where it lags is in the items. They mostly suck. I hate how they changed the mushrooms and it lacks the orb style items. I miss settong up traps across the board. Also I dont care for the lucky space. Its too many hand outs. And the Bowser space is too lenient.

“Best Mario party exp on the switch” super Mario party is fun but kind of a low bar don’t u think? Lol
