I have a pair of Churchs brown wingtips oxfords that must be at least fifteen years old. Before Prada, by the way. I live in Illinois. I was wearing them in nasty, and wet weather both in summer and winter and everything inbetween. I was under the impression that I could do that. After all, the wingtips perforations were designed for hiking the wet moors in England as I was won't to believe. Well, of course I polished them but and on occassiin, I used saddle soap on them. That was before I knew about proper conditioning and shoe leather care. They have developed cracks, even with the use of shoe trees. Proper care is so important and I realized that too late on this pair. Also, salt can be nasty as well. I continue to wear them, nourishing the leather. Shoe trees and rotation are essential. I did know that all along. Thank you for your videos. I have always appreciated nice shoes since I was turned on to them long ago by a kind fellow in Hammond, Indiana. He showed me Nunn Bush. He said, "these are shoes". RIP Mr. Sandler. My experience with Church's was on Wabash in Chicago. Terry and his staff sold me on them. We would have great discussions. I stll have eight pairs of Church's oxfords purchased there before Prada. The store is gone now since Terry retired but the quality of those shoes remain. Thanks to the community, I have learned about nourishing leather shoes properly.

I love the micro crease/rolls of peccary. very clearly my favorite leather...or at least right up there.
