Today we will conduct a series of tests through a 10 mm thick Plexiglas sheet.
We glue the device with our own hands on double-sided tape directly to the plexiglass and first check in what modes what materials the metal detector will see.
Let's turn it on and start with the wood search mode. Let's see how he does it. He sees plastic pipes and wood and all kinds of metals. The closer the wood is to the center of the sensor, the higher the percentage value. Once in the very center, a symbol in the form of a cross is displayed on the screen. Agree. The device sees wood quite well and quite accurately.
A smartphone emits electromagnetic waves. Therefore, the GD216 metal detector sees it in all modes.
A copper two-wire wire also sees in the wood search mode, but the fact that it is really a wire and it understands under voltage when switching from a deeper to a more accurate mode.
I talked about how to change modes, calibrate, lower sensitivity, etc. in the first video. If the metal detector is switched to the hidden wiring search mode, then he immediately realized that the wire was live.
Wood in the wiring search mode can be said not to see.
In the metal search mode, it does not react to wood at all, because it works like a metal detector.
In the mode of searching for wood, the device reacts to metal, as well as to wood. If the device is switched to the metal search mode. That signal quality improves. In addition to the percentage scale, the device began to show the distance to the metal in centimeters. 1 centimeter is the depth, in our case the thickness of the plexiglass. In the hidden wiring search mode, the metal detector practically does not react to metal.
As you can see, there is no universal mode for all cases. That is why to search for electrical wiring, select the electrical wiring mode, to search for metal, the metal mode, and to search for wood and other materials, select the wood search mode.

Especially for this experiment, I soldered one edge of the sewer PVC pipe.
Let's fill it with water. And again a miracle! The pipe became visible. The GD216 metal detector reacts quite accurately.
