Did you know that Hamburg has over 2,500 bridges? This is more than Amsterdam, London and Venice put together! But how does the second-largest German city integrate mobility with waterways? George Liu - Urban Mobility Researcher - was very curious to discover it for himself. In this video, part of the City Unboxed series produced in collaboration with the Urban Cycling Institute, George gives us a tour of Hamburg by walking, cycling and public transit to finally give the city a human mobility score!

Coming from Hamburg I would give a 10/15 😉 When you leave the city centre it’s still car centric but improving (3/5 for the bike). And if you want to move by public transit and your journey isn’t from or to one of the inner districts it can take a lot of time. Busses haven’t enough priority, ticket prices are quite expensive but public transit is good in Hamburg (3/5).

1/15, because Deutsche Bahn. The only thing saving it from the 0/15 is that i can access the McDonalds by boat. (That's legit a thing you can do in Hamburg.)

Thanks for yet another great video George! Need to visit Hamburg again. Last time was kind of 30 years ago, a lot seem to have happened since then. 😀

The video is so commercial-like that it should have product placement disclaimer. Why should one give the city some mobility score after moving only in tourist areas?
