Cont: I never thought I would end up using this to keep my family alive. Not having two nickels to rub together, we had only two strips of bacon in the refrigerator...no milk, no leftovers. My daughter had baby food, but my son (4 at the time) had nothing to eat when he awoke from his nap. As I prayed.. God showed me - almost like a movie loop playing in my brain - how Dad and I would pick poke weed from a field in my childhood town. God led me out to a small outcropping of trees in our back yard, and there were (I believe) seven poke weed plants of the exact size needed for cooking. Thanking Him for this revelation, I took the plants inside, prepared, parboiled and cooked them with the two strips of bacon. My son, now nearly forty one years old, remembers and fondly regards poke weed as one of his favorite culinary delights! GOD IS FAITHFUL!!

Thanks for sharing this. The Lord also give me I guess flashes of things in my mind. Some how I understand what they mean or what He's trying to show me to do. I don't hear people say the Lord does this with them. So I feel weird at times like maybe I am making it up. I can't explain it. Just thank you for sharing really. I'm encouraged knowing He always provides. I am living in a camper at the moment and really getting my roots dug down deep in the Lord. Sometimes I don't know where provision will come but it always comes.

@@KBeth35 I can't count the times God has called things to mind and has "taught me on the spot"! Another time, years after this episode was when I owned a building materials business with my son. My son was on military deployment, and my first day without him, I had seven four-side, two story brick houses of mill angles/heavy duty mill angles, nails, wall ties, etc. to deliver. (Some of the extruded metal pieces were 20' long and nearly 300 lbs. each. I sat on the bed of my flatbed truck, nearly in tears...wanting to just quit...wondering HOW I would single-handedly off-load such monstrous pieces of metal. Again, God showed me how to diagonalize each piece, bringing it out to within 4" of the edge of the bed, then dropping that side onto the ground and dragging it into the proper place on the building site. When that day was finished (quite a bit easier than I'd previously thought) I smiled, felt God's radiant smile, and never doubted that He would get me through anything He brought me to! He gave us minds to use for His glory, and if we use His directives, no matter the outcome, we know He has a higher purpose in our lives and I repeat...HE IS FAITHFUL!

Girl, my grandma used to fix Polk salad with bacon all of the time. To this day bacon and Polk salad with cornbread and fresh milk are very delicious and a special meal for me.

Asking for prayers. My 3 yr old granddaughter was recently diagnosed with BAL Leukemia. My son is devastated by the diagnosis. I am lifting my Granddaughter up in prayer and also praying for my son and his wife to come to Jesus! I raised my son to follow Jesus, but since he married a Buddist woman, seems to reject Christ! He is angry with God for allowing his little girl's illness. I understand that grief brings many different emotions to the surface. I told him I was praying for his daughter, and his anger was very great toward me and God! God knows my heart was shattered by his response, but part of me knows he is lashing out because of his feelings of despair. I ask that all of you who believe in Jesus stand together and fill this gap! Jesus can and will heal my Granddaughter of this affliction! Father, you say in your Word, Let the children come to me! I give her to you and while on my knees, I ask for healing of her mind,body and soul. Praying for revival in my son's entire family. Praise you Yeshua! Jesus give me guidance please. I don’t know how much longer I can hold on. As a single mom things are hard on me both of my sons are autistic. I started homeschooling them due to them having many issues in public school, I’m thankful because they have made such progress, but my hours to work are limited. Jesus give me strength I’m constantly struggling to provide for them I’m so ashamed. Lord please help me as I constantly struggle to pay bills and constantly struggle to buy groceries for my children. The devil wants me to give up. BUT no matter what I face I KEEP FAITH in Jesus!

God gave me this as my life verse the day I got Saved on 1/3/2000.

I really thought I'd found 'the one' and it broke my heart to find out he wasn't. God sent people to tell me they were and are praying for me. It was no coincidence that I went to a dental appt and the dental hygienist asked if she could pray and continue praying. I'd never seen her there before, but she was there the same day and time I was. She even said she had prayed for God to use her! I'm still sad but I understand God's wisdom in this situation enabled me to make the right decision in letting that person go, then putting everything in God's hands. I don't want to be alone for the rest of my life, but know it's best to trust God when it comes to that.

I believe that Jesus referred to pouring new wine into an old wine skin and the new wine skin is salvation thru Christ Jesus, Our Passover Lamb.

Wow, my family is from the Iberian Peninsula between Spain and Portugal. My ancestors are the Sephardic Jews that got forced out in 1492 and settled in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado. I really need Jesus every split nano second. Without His leading and guidance i would stumble and fall into a pit...we never reach a penacle so high that we don't need direction. We are NOTHING without Him... But with Him, we can do all things....we will have all eternity to learn more and more of Him. When we get to heaven we will not automatically "know it all. I told her no I wanted to become what I was suppose to be so awhile I studied in the bible but meanwhile she kept saying this to me. FINALLY after prayer I finally told her I had a man in my life. One of the evenings me and my granddaughters were having dinner outside .. next door to us was a club and I figured it was just a bar. But when I Google it, I found out it was way more than that. The Holy Spirit led me to write the owner's a letter telling them to close the business and to do something good for younger adults not something that will lead their souls to hell.That was a footstep that I did not foresee.God is good all the time. I also talked about knowing Jesus and I sent them a track...pray for this business to shut their doors.

AMEN! Absolutely!! We went bankrupt over 20 years ago. I was far from God but in the midst of the despair of losing everything He spoke to me clearly! This is the only way you will come back to me. You cannot have 2 Gods. The love of money was my God. We lost it all. He drew me back to His Word and promised He would restore everything to me and more!! I would seek Him on every step from then on and the Words he would give me, the insight, the knowledge grew my faith and He showed us how to resotre our lives through Him. He has given us a beautiful home, beautiful opportunities to show the love of God, the chance to travel and see the church in many lands!! We have been truly blessed! He has given us wonderful gifts and He has brought us from stength to strength. I have made many mistakes over the 20 years but He is always Good and Faithful and led me back to His Will. 20 years later we are still as excited about what God is doing with our lives! I claim that God is still directing our path....I look forward to see what else He wants to do. We will folow the footsteps!!

WOW....Father is totally awesome. He is Faithful. He can be trusted. He is jealous, caring, lover of our soul. It NEVER pays to be disobedient to Him. Help the needy every way you can. Let them know that He loves them way beyond their comprehension . Point the way to the cross. If you have two of anything that you are not in need of, (clothing, shoes, food) give one to someone in need. Be His hands,, arms, feet, voice. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away...bless be His Holy name. Forgive all who have come against you or He will not forgive you. Be blessed. Pray without ceasing. Yes, it is all true! I tried to go to sea, but if I had gone to sea, I would never have met my wife! You can't figure out your choices or footsteps or why you have gotten to the place you are in when you follow the Lord. Yet it is much better than rebellion and wasting your life!

God did plan my life whereas I was able t see many countries during my young adulthood with my people .I planned my own destiny but I went in a different track which amazed me and more so when I began Hawaii’s first deaf/blind class.and next into triathlons.Protecting me everywhere I went. This is so true! I'm always discussing this with my mom. Free will is a myth. He will eventually turn you back to His Will, Amen. The other thing is you never know when you're being used as someone else's lesson. Yehovah, speaks all things into existence, knows all things past, present and future, He has numbered all things.
