Clouds and fog both form when water vapor condenses or freezes to form tiny droplets or crystals in the air, but clouds can form at many different altitudes while fog only forms near the ground.

Excellent demonstration indeed.
Been a long time since I studied Climatology in college, and kinda wondered how fog developed. A bit older than my college days, but just wondered since I'm in NW and we're under a Dense Fog condition here where I cannot see across the street. This is worse than it was 3 days ago. It was driveable. This is much heavier to where streetlight is barely visiable-just illuminated. NWS says this will last into tomorrow, and then rain in a couple of days on TG Day. Perfect weather for me to not go anywhere.
