In my opinion, parking in a Cul-de-sac should not be permitted, period. But if it had to be permitted should be parked parallel to the curb to limit obtrusiveness if someone needed to turn around without parking. Should be able to turn around a pickup truck with a trailer. On that note, parking in the middle doesn't seem like a bad use, but the amount of people able to park in the middle is significantly less than along the curb.

I've heard of that; it seems a little aggressive in my opinion. I imagine if its a private company, then they have a strict contract with your town. They are trying to control their weight/disposal costs. Which would be the consequence of bidding too low to get the contract from a competitor. Purely speculative.

In an ideal world there would be signs posted that you don’t park on the street on trash day.

I live in Canada and I've seen this implemented in some areas of my city

I think you should use the drive way but if there is not cars than the driveway can hold people should just park out front
