I’m reading the comments and some people disagree with the fact you shaved their heads but I think it was the right thing to do because you guys didn’t want to leave Bri with this while you guys had to leave and would be constantly washing their hair and worrying about it. Hair grows back before you know it. I feel so bad that you had to go through leaving the kids at the home when they were so excited to go but it’s better to be safe and not spread it to other family and friends. Everything will be okay and I hope things have got better for your family ❤️

Nicole Rose but I bet Olivia likely has them too and maybe even Bonnie and Joel. The whole family needs to be treated or it will be a vicious circle ! My boys are older now so not an issue at high school here in NZ but when they were younger it was awful. Just pleased I had two boys with short hair and one was a blonde so very easy to see them when hair was wet.

YORKIE SLAVE Never said anything was wrong with shaved heads . Just saying you need to cover all bases. Lice can stay around for a long long time if you don’t get on top of it.

Best advice we EVER got... add a few drops of tea tree oil to your shampoo bottle. (A kindergarten teacher told us about this... those that didn’t do it got it more than once) We did it until they were done with the elementary years.

Craigand Amber we started when they started kindergarten and put 3 small drops in a regular size bottle of shampoo and shook it up good every time we used it. (No, but I was always SUPER CAREFUL when using it... I let them hold a damp washcloth over their eyes to make sure.)

You have to flip your hat upside down, fill it with socks, undergarments etc. then pack shirts around the bill and it wont get ruined!

I think that it’s beautiful and so genuine of Bonnie to cry. It shows how caring and loving she is towards her children and their feelings. For her to react that way shows to me that she feels what her children feel and if they are sad, she is sad.

You didn’t need to shave their heads. You just need to use the shampoo properly and take out the Nits with the comb.

Love this video! This is 100% what being a parent is! I felt bad for you when you were crying for your kids missing the party. We've all been there. You captured it on camera though that's what makes your blog so cool. Makes all us moms feel better we're not alone

When I worked with children, it was a common occurrence. I hate the chemicals so I got one of the electric combs. Works great!! Every time I'd hear a "beep", I knew one of those suckers was dying. I'd comb through after work every day, just as a precaution.

I don't know why people always watch these vlogs and make bigger deals out of things Bonnie says or does than they actually are? So many comments below that Bonnie is being overdramatic and terrible for shaving the boys' heads, and that she shouldn't have left. But...it's just lice, it's not a death sentence. Bree is with the kids and very capable. Grandparents are nearby, if need be. The boys will be okay. Considering Bonnie was in the same outift during the hair washing and at the end, I'm assuming this all happened within a few hours. I can't imagine how stressful that whole situation would have been if you're literally trying to leave for the airport and, suddenly, you have to deal with lice. Sometimes, you have to make gut decisions as a parent. Sure, she could have left the hair alone and let Bree do shampoo and medicine and all that, but hindsight is 20/20. Perhaps Bonnie was emotional at the end because she knew her boys were upset over their hair. She wasn't saying they were ugly or wouldn't have any friends at school, she was repeating what Boston and Cody were crying about. Kids can be overdramatic too, remember. I imagine there's a bit of mom guilt in there as well, but lice is not a reason to cancel an important trip. Give Bonnie a break! Sheesh!

Oh no!😫 don't worry mama, i've totally been there with my daughter, i'm sure by now it's probably starting to clear up, but next time go to the pharmacy, they have over the counter treatments that clear up the lice super quick without having to shave their heads🙂 Also, a shower cap helps to make sure it doesn't spread💜

Bonnie Hoellein this is late comment but I’ve found that combing their hair after washing and has conditioner in their hair before rinsing really helps prevent head lice. I do this at least once a week with my kids to avoid them getting out of control.

Bonnie. Your a great mom and you have a beautiful daughter and three handsome boys. Nothing could ever make them ugly. They have great personalities that shine threw tough times. Remember it is just hair and it will grow back. I love you and your family. Keep pushing threw.

Apple cider vinegar & dawn dish soap! It clears it up every time. The vinegar loosens the sticky on the hair & dawn cleans them out!!! Good luck!

Martha Gonzalez Lice is a mother’s worst nightmare because she most likely will be the one combing threw everyone’s hair for weeks! I no this all to well and it can happen too the cleanest kids / people. I was paranoid for ever bc I thought I would have it too but I didn’t lol I doubt you or Joel have it either

But what about Olivia? Did you comb through her hair? And did you shave Lincoln’s head too?

Aw Bonnie! Lice is the worst!! Like literal worst. My daughter's both had it 3 years ago, they passed it back and forth for what seemed like weeks! They both have thick long hair so it took hours to comb through it with the nice comb. I'm so sorry! Both boys are still adorable and it's ultimately just hair! I hope things are better now❤

Oh Bonnie!!! I remember when I was little we had a summer trip every year to my grandparents house. One year my mom found out my sisters and I had lice the night before we left. She cut our hair from middle of our backs to bob hair cuts and we cried the whole 9 hr drive to grandmas. Looking back now I realize it wasnt such a big deal and 100% get that my mom was just as heart broken as we where. They are handsome boys and their amazing personalities and huge hearts will always outshine their hair!! Hugs momma!!!

Mixed Media Kam We have three boys ages 6, 4 and 2 every 5 to 6 weeks my husband takes them to the barbershop and he trims all the boys hair.. it is always short and I love it!

Oh Bonnie, my heart broke for you, I know that must’ve been so overwhelming, especially trying to leave for a trip! Poor kiddos but I have a feeling mom was suffering more! It’s so hard when you try to do everything right for your family and then things go wrong that are out of your control!

You didn’t have to shave heads it’s easily treated and very common. I know you had to leave and just acted quick but no need at all. My sons had them twice quick treatment on all the family wash bedding towels etc and done. You have amazing help there that would have seen to it. I hope they weren’t too upset and yourself x try not to worry while you’re away

I put 2 drops of tea tree oil in a water bottle and in the morning when I'm doing my kids hair I spray them with that to avoid them getting lice at school. It sucks for them 💔

Bonnie , you are an amazing mother . Don’t listen to the terrible comments. Kids get lice , little boys get there heads shaved , kids cry. It’s not the end of the world . You did the right thing. The world can’t stop because these little things happen. Love you and support you all the way !

Awe, Bonnie. All the ❤️ from me!! I just dealt with lice on one of my girls in the past couple of weeks. She got it from her cousin. It was awful at first. But I actually found it therapeutic to check all my girls’ heads. Slowly combing through every tiny section of hair. Thankfully she didn’t have a very bad case of lice. My head still itches every time I think about it.

well this vlog went downhill fast!!! one minute you're all excited for the party and laying out clothes and anticipating how pleased Boston is going to be about his clean shoes, washing hair and chatting about how cute Lincoln is and singing with Olivia, next minute there's lice and you're running for the airport and in tears!! I feel so sad knowing how torn you must have felt getting on that plane!! We can't do it all mumma, although you seem to be good at trying to do it all, and as a nanny/babysitter myself I've been left with kids a lot more sick than just lice, you gotta do what you gotta do!!! I watched this vlog at the right time! Me and my two daughters woke up with lice last week and I’ve had the hardest time getting rid of all the eggs so this weekend we have some live ones again! So stressful!

Because she was leaving and she didn't want the babysitter to have to wash their heads with shampoo every two seconds. God, it's her children, her decision.

Oh Bonnie! I’m crying right along with you! My daughter (now 14). Gets lice constantly. She wears ponytails & braids all the time to help prevent them. They dont like tight braids and she still manages to get it. I am so very sorry they were so upset! Prayers!

Bonnie ! You are looking good! I can see the results of surgery. I am recovering from a breast lift right now , and last year I had a tummy tuck. Recovery is slow , but it's 100000000000000% worth it! I do not feel guilty at all for having my surgeries. I am so happy I did them , I can't wait until I'm completely healed from my current surgery. It's very frustrating to have to rely on my family to help me. It's frustrating not to be able to do everything I normally do. It's frustrating waiting to feel back to normal.

My gosh Bonnie!! How stressful! My OCD automatically kicked in when you said the word lice. My daughter got lice from a day camp one year and it was horrible. I cried and I was worried, but that too shall pass. Keep your head up mama. You are the strongest and the best there is.

Bonnie please tell the boys that they are handsome as heck! Hair does not make them awesome, who they are does! I know it is hard, as a mom this is heartbreaking. My 3 girls had lice when they were that same age. My one daughter is allergic to the meds used and we had to do a pixie cut on her. I cried, she cried, ugh it was awful. Every day for 30 days I combed through their hair 2 times a day. Use mayo, it works great. All their costumes n dress up stuff had to be tossed. Cars, sofas, beds had to be sprayed and cleaned. Ugh the stress I just felt for you is so real. Hope they are doing ok now and that Olivia doesn't get it. I started putting hairspray in their hair every day during school days and they haven't had it since. Love n hugs
