How Do You Control Your Driver // Increase The Size Of Your Fairway & Your Chances For Success

Спорт

How often do you take your Driver out to the range and practice placement shots instead of distance? Being able to control where the ball lands is just as important as how far it goes before it lands. Mike demonstrates how to make different shots with the driver and make the clubface work. The driver isn't just a distance club, you need to be able to place your shots. Remember, by learning how to control the clubface, the flight of the ball, and where the ball will land; you'll increase your target area and make the game easier. Find out what you're most consistent at, and use that to your advantage.

Pure wisdom. My game transformed when I finally embraced my fade and used it instead of fighting it.

Mike. You are a true inspiration. I have changed my Grip, Swing and Range Practice based on your videos and I have taken a few local lessons over here in OZ. The result is I have gone from a 63 for nine holes to 50 in 2 months. I am feeling more confident. Thanks Mike.

This is a great video. I’ve been fighting a fade for years, wanting to hit the draw to order without great success. Recently just gone with the fade and hit far more fairways.

Great video Mike. A bit off topic but I'm curious about the effect a golfers height has on attack angle. I'm fairly tall (6'4" and 71 years old) and with a 7 iron my attack angle is generally -4 to -5 degrees and Driver is 0 to -3 degrees. I'm working on getting the Driver a bit more positive but I'm not unhappy with the irons and my guess is that a taller golfer would have a steeper attack angle anyway.

Hi Malcolm! I also guess the taller you are the steeper the angle of attack is produced. I’m myself somehow small man and my swing path is pretty flat. ( not too much , my clubs are well fitted). Concerning your datas with the driver, and in spite of my size, my angle attack is from + 1 to -2. No problem as long as I control my club face to hit the sweetspot and I do. Koepka is + 1 + 2! A great ball striker !! Focusing on a high launch angle with the driver can be inadequate with some kinds of swing. So , if you allow me to give my opinion, go on with which works for you and let the loft do the job! Enjoy your golf monsieur !!

My problem is that I start the round hitting a draw and towards the end I start fading or slicing. Although it looks like I'm technically swinging the same, it doesn't feel as I am and it drives me nuts.

If I am aiming straight I must be a straight hitter. If I am a strait hitter a ten yard pull or push is all I am going to do and I have 25 yards cushion on either side of straight.

My name is Brett from California. Your grip is exactly like mine. None of the traditional fade draw what ever videos apply to me because of my grip. I can draw or hook the ball or hit a dead straight shot no problem. But for the life of me I can not hit a fade or a slice. Opening the face hits a push. Opening my stance hits a straight shot. Doing both hits a push fade. Outside in disconnects me from my body and I can't be consistent like that. How do YOU hit a fade or a slice if needed? Or rather, how should I set up to hit a fade? The course I play on is a clock wise course so most of the danger is on the left. I need to hit fades but my grip won't allow it. Can provide video.

That feel you have for hitting a push fade? Use that as your fade! You'll need to start the ball far left, but it will push fade back to the right. Try practicing that and just getting comfortable with that set up and shot style.

It’s missing a question mark but the title says “how do you control your driver” not how to control your driver. It’s a course management video not a skill video.
