How do starfish move with no brain?

Starfish coordinate hundreds of feet to hop about-and they do it without a brain.
The “incredibly coordinated” movements across tiny tubular appendages protruding from under each of the five arms apparently work simply by responding to increased loads. With no central control centre, the individual feet contribute to a global, unified movement of the whole animal in a way that could inspire future robotics, says Eva Kanso at the University of Southern California, in Los Angeles.

The yellow colour of the captions was hard to read
Someone needs to choose their font colour and background colour with more care.
I remember pulling up proper cartoon orange starfish, when fishing on the pier as a kid.
Ha...I thought you was going to talk about the consciousness of the starfish.

Very disappointing video. It just describes the leg movement and doesn't deal with the caption, and doesn't say how the movement happens without a brain.

I thought the same thing. So this is what i found when i googled it: The sea star has no brain, but a nerve ring in its center, like a relay station that coordinates the movement of its arms. This nervous system relays impulses from light, touch and chemical sensors around its body.
