If Ferrri came out with a similar plan, it would be a really big blow to their ego and the tifosi, and the midfield might be extra eager to score points now, but i do think it might be fairer on the drivers and fans in the end. Do you know what suggestions He has? He can at the most give feedback on the driveability of the car, and not on the aero, which is the current problem. He can be qualitative about where he wants more traction, more agility but that's not enough to develop a car design. The people who've built the most successful cars In history sure know more about car design. Throwing the engineers under the bus is clearly hypocritical of the drivers when they kept saying we are in this together, we keep pushing and what not when they knew they had the most competitive car.

Pretty sure they only let him do this because: A) Mercedes knows no one wants to copy too much from them, because they're not quick. @@ishanmamadapur6307 There's still some restrictions, in that they can only take 2d photos/video and not 3d laser scanners. Also, there's no practical way to see the ground effect channels without flipping the car over, which is the most important part of the aero design.
Does anyone have the link to the cfd done on the Ferrari sidepods by some students as mentioned by him ?
sam is sick, great to see him in these tech vids, super cool format
Looks like Aston Martin joined the club of four. Everybody else is now fighting for fifth place.

Seems like a club of two in 2023. AM and RB. Ferrari and Merc are 💩
I believe need to sort the zero sidepod concept and opt for a 2021 sidepod concept or one similar to the Red Bull 😅
This is the type of content F1 and the media in general should prioritize instead of promoting and fomenting arguments between fanbases for engagement
Interesting idea to introduce the W15 halfway through the season. It's also incredibly risky as they'll show their hand really early if there's anything new or inventive on it. Can use the latter half of this season to tune it and understand it before fighting next year. In other words, this season already belongs to Red Bull

Don't think they have the luxury of waiting around
Maybe next year
Do an Aston and steal Red Bull engineers who are close to Newey.
Anyone know which forum he is referring to? 4:46

Have got to keep the non techy people pleased aswell. I'm pretty sure our guy knows his stuff but it's a presentation for entertainment after all. In the latest Tech talks, scarbs is using terms like pitot tube and CFD without explaination or context which most wouldn't understand but I believe that is more for the techy enthusiasts among us.

@@ishanmamadapur6307Yep. This is why Sam and especially Albert are really great at this. They take these complex concepts and simplify it for the laymen. They have a teacher's mindset. Even as an engineer, you can appreciate how well they explain it.
Really appreciate how Collins explained everything, very well done. It’s when he gets a bit silly is when we’re out. 🚗
6:20 that wire porpoising above his head is Toto with a mic spying to get ideas for the car
It's a shame because it's a truly beautiful design, especially in the details. What a gorgeous machine
Step 1: Start over with a new car. Preferably with real side pods.
What we'd like now Sam is a similar video explaining what can other teams take from the Red Bull to make them faster!
If I had a drink every time Sam says "sticky uppie bits" I would have at least 2 shots each video. that's not a lot but I'm watching this at work and people would start noticing
They should ask Hamilton, he's quite sure he knows how to fix it

@Ernie H he knows how he likes his car to react to his driving style. I am not sure he knows more about how to properly achieve that driving feel than the hundreds of very experienced engineers, aerodynamicists etc.

if they don’t listen to lewis they aren’t gonna win. simple as that. red bull already virtually won constructors. mercedes lost some people to williams now which has made them slightly better but it’s already been red bull > aston martin > ferrari > mercedes in terms of power and performance. and am is a feeder of mercedes OUTDOING mercedes

Love listening to Sam. He seems to know what he’s talking about. Let’s have more of him please.
This may have been Sam’s best vid.
