Engelbert sang this song for his mum, who had passed away this very year - 1988 - terribly sad and emotional time for Enge, but his mum loved this song, so he sang it for her ~ but it was quite an effort for him, and all who knew...........

So beautiful...and the song too! There is so much emotion as you sing this....it brings tears to my eyes. The pure magic...to convey to us, with each word, each gesture, each look, and every note, all that you put into a song and truly place our Hearts as one with yours.

I understand that when Engel sang this piece here in 1988 that he had just recently lost his mother, Olive Dorsey. This was one of her favorite songs and she and Engel were very very close. If you notice he points up toward heaven a couple of times. The emotion he sings with is truly personal for him.

Yes,you are right.I was in the audience when he sang this at a different venue,just after his Mother passed away.He had tears in his eyes,I really felt for him.
