I've pared up a Zeus FC with 3 different Zeus esc,s that were rated at different amps. No problem.

Hi Bardwell, in my experience, trying to combine the best cheap options I've tried different esc and fc between them and what I can say is that just swapping the pins is not enough to ensure that the esc and the flight controller works as they should, this is given by the fact that different brands of esc and fc, builds their board differently, adding more or less hardware filtering. I'm going to tell about my little experience, so what i found out some time ago was about a jhemcu fc and same brand esc, if you take a look to the esc board you can count around 4 condenser on it, and they give a 2200uF 35V external condenser, if you make it work with a zeus f722, you will actually see your drone flip by itself by throttling up, it was a very dangerous situation, but, if you take the fc from this brand, wich at that time was the jhemcu f7 bt, there is a plenty of filtering and condenser on it, so I tried to combine that FC with an iflight 32bit 50A 4 in 1 esc that has around 18 condenser on it (a minimum bare in my opinion for a decent esc) and I can say that I never seen a better stack like that. Indeed if you take the zeez stack, their esc is very filtered, so many condenser on it, but to give that confortable position on their fc they don't have so many filtering on it. With that said I don't want to talk about wich fc works better with one esc or another, what i can say is don't do experiment like that by yourself if you don't understand the electronics that you find on this boards, just go with a known good stack and there you go, you can fly happy. Please forgive my english please

I have a Mamba FC that just won’t fly well with a Tmotor Velox esc. It works as intended and flies, but it is twitchy and for whatever reason is not stable. Swapped escs between quads and gave it a spedix esc and it’s perfectly happy. The Velox esc works great with the tmotor fc in the other quad so 🤷🏼‍♂️

Interesting. Did you try changing esc settings, or flashing new firmware?

I personally have found iflight flight controllers, ADC for current does not work correctly with non iflight esc's. This shouldn't be a issue, as the adc is generally a simple 0-3.3v signal. I have 2 iflight flight controllers, one JBf7, with a tmotor velox 45amp blheli32(analog current). It doesn't play nice, I get wild numbers, and cannot be calibrated. Second is a Twing G 20x20mm FC, and a tekko32 f3. Replaced the kakutef7v2 that was connected to the tekko32(analog current), current scale was set at 172. Which was reading current meter perfectly fine, but once I installed the Twing, put the current scale in as 172, and current is not work correctly. Gives wildly inaccurate values, mah just climb, pulls 20amps at idle. Iflight says it's because I'm not using an iflight ESC, and I need to connect telemetry. Which makes no sense, telemetry is already connected for bi directional dshot. Both esc's have one analog current sensor on the main leads. Telemetry would only work if each esc on the 4in1 had a current sensor. This is the biggest issue I have with iflight. Every other FC I have ever used has a working current pin, no matter what brand the esc is. I cannot say the same, im 2 for 2 with Iflight FC adc current pin not working with non iflight ESC.

Hi Joshua, I'm from Germany and nobody can help me. I hope you can. Could you telling me how I connect the Furling32 4in1 ESC to the lumenier Lux minif7? If I look to the pin map and build it like this, it will fail and I got no voltage to the FC. Thank you for your help. Best regards

The flight controller gets power wher the motir signal wires come out if it to go to the esc board . There are 6 or 7 wires . V+ , gnd . Read the fc if it needs v batt voltage or 5v supplied from an esc board . , ,m1 , m2, m3 , m4 . And some have a "c" wire to send current sensor information to the flight controller for on screen display . It can fly without the " c " wire . Draw the flight controller pin out and esc connections on paper first is fun and easy way to not get confused or make mistakes when connecting . The flight controller needs a reciever connected and bind it to a transmitter and configure an arm switch. And small angle or level and calibrate the flight controller.
