One of our houses has the same slop driveway and same drainage system. Anyhow, the system works well but make sure you keep it clear of debris. Those tops pop off and you can clean the channel out as well.

My parents live in my detach garage and have a piece of concrete along outside of garage (like a small side walk) with a negative slope so when it rains water goes towards garage and water has been getting inside. I was thinking about doing a french drain system with corrugated pipe, fabric and gravel. I wonder which one is easier to install? I was wondering if it be enough if I just dig about 6 to 8 " deep to lay corrugated pipe in just to catch water and deter it down to street?

What's the brand again?

I have this but the water tends to build up after the channel drain and not disperse into the ditch. What do you suggest?

It sounds like the drain is not sloped correctly or it is getting clogged where the water cannot escape.

Do you have idea to help drain water OUT of garage after snow melts off cars? It's creeping toward the garage door and then freezing and creating an ice dam at bottom of garage door. Thank you for ideas!

In the winter sand comes down my driveway along with the melting snow. will the catch basin hold the water so as not to plug up my hose off to drain area?

If it's a large amount of sand you may have to clean it out every so often. If the drain pipe gets clogged you may be able to flush more water through it to try to get some of the sand out. Hope this helps, we don't deal with this kind of situation where we are in TN often.

I am desperate for a solution. We have this system. It works fine in almost all types of rain and precipitation, but it backs up in very heavy rain and it backs up quickly. I don’t understand why, but it gets overwhelmed for some reason. Both the 3” PVC connectors to the main drainage pipe stop taking on water. Again, this is only in very heavy rain.

Mike, we have the same problem! We moved into this home a year ago and have this exact drain system but during heavy rains the last few weeks, we have had a flooded garage, just as you describe. We cleaned out the channels but it didn't help. In fact, it made it worse as the next rain flooded the garage worse (today). Did you figure this out? Shouldn't the garage door sweeps keep this water out?? Ours is prob 50 yrs old. Thanks and hope you've been able to resolve your issue. I have no idea who to call either. Not looking to have someone tell us we have to dig up our entire yard for 10k or something.

they sell these at home depot and lowes and they make a compact design and a deep design

Somebody know where I can receive a gift certificate to get one of those installed in my driveway because we are getting old and the house is getting old and theres just no money to fix this stuff. . . :( Is my house going to crumble?
