Thank you for the video! To clarify, if someone has ten claims on their patent and my (potential) product shares 9 of those claims but has 1 original claim, it is not an infringement? I've had an idea I've been thinking about for over a year and I searched Google and Amazon to see if it existed yet, but found nothing. However, after doing my own patent search, I was devastated to find that someone else had a near identicle one already patented.

You are very welcome! Thanks for watching. Infringement is a claim by claim analysis. So, the question is whether your product has all of the same elements of ANY claim. If you are, then you're infringing. Good for you for doing research on your own. Don't be too devastated, use that creative mind to solve another problem.
