How Do Aquifers Work?

An aquifer is best defined as a layer of saturated rock and the water in its pores. Aquifers were formed very slowly over vast periods of time. Water in aquifers comes originally from the surface of the Earth.

Water that has accumulated over millions of years in a single generation by overuse. The Tonga Volcano eruption has given us a change to replenish denuded aquifers - perhaps up to 10 years. This gives a good chance to both renew the aquifers and to better plan its use into the future.

We should replenish aquifers by using solar powered desalination plants.
