Hey Amy! Shuqi is grateful for this little surprise. So many delicious food that I am hungry now. Glad to know many interesting facts about Thanksgiving in the US. I now know that the tasty sauce offered in the dinning commons is caused "gravy" haha.

Happy for the Turkey 🦃 I saw one on the news. I dont remember when. I think there was another President. I already saw the pumpkin and apple pie, I should try them someday. Our pumpkin sweet is completely different. It is a very beautiful holiday. Unfortunatelly the History in Americas, north and south America dont start that perfect. But it is has a great meaning to be thankful to God and for everything. My family and I already celebrated thanksgiving. We do every year. But with very different food you are used. With fruits and kale and juice on the table. I think it is a tropical Thanksgiving. It is important to remember what God made for us the whole year. I remember the first year. It was too late to buy fruits. Many things happened those days. And I said inside my bedroom: "Jesus, I wish I could celebrate this thanksgiving with some fruit. But it seems we will not have time to buy before it closes" Then a car selling fruits passed by my house. And never forgot it. This was the first year. Even my grandmother celebrated with us. It was like a car of ice cream. But a fruit one. Sometimes we see it here. But not everyday, they change of place. And that was not even the day to appear around.

Every 4th Thursday of November! The number changes every year, unlike Christmas ☺️

Hey Amy. I'm really curious how fast you talk to your family and friends. It seems you're intentionally slowing down your pace of speaking to make it clear for non-native speakers. However, other native speaker won't slow down their speaking just for us. So, don't you think we should face real speaking speed same as average peaple use in their real life?

Hey Farhad! Great question- here are a few thoughts: - I definitely DO slow down my speed when teaching. On youtube, I have students of all levels, so I want to make sure everyone can understand me, even lower intermediate students. But it's also important to note that if I were teaching native English speakers about something, I also would talk more slowly than in a regular conversation. The environment of teaching or giving a presentation usually involves speaking clearly and slowly for an audience, whether they are native English speakers or not 🙂👩‍🏫 - There is a difference between speaking fast and sounding native. Some students think that it is hard to understand native speakers because we speak quickly, but what my students don't realize is that it isn't just the speed, but the connections we make between words and the sounds we delete. I have a video on that here! kzread.info/dash/bejne/mYSuqpOyh7jXgbg.html So, even though I do speak relatively slowly, I still make lots of connections and delete sounds as usual, so hopefully this helps those intermediate students get used to hearing natural english at a slower pace, so when they do hear it more quickly, they're familiar with it. - you definitely should get some exposure to faster speech if you are at that level! Obviously you can find lots of sources for fast, natural speech like in TV, movies, and youtube. However, I have been wanting to find someone to have a regular conversation with me, so you all can hear what that sounds like. It is definitely on my list of videos to make 😄 Thanks for your thoughtful question and being my student!

@@YourFavoriteEnglishTeacher Oh, thank your exhaustive answer. Here is my personal experince: 4-5 years I took a English class with a British accent teacher. In the first session, he once said He won't slow down his speaking speed for us, instead, we have to adapt our listening to his speaking. For couple of first session I could not understand what I was listening back then. Amazingly, since then, I started understanding every single words in the class gradually. I thought this approach can be used in your videos. But I almost agree with in this matter, as you were trained in the university, so I believe in you and your way😉

These food look so delicious that I feel hungry. I haven’t eaten them before except turkey. In my opinion, Because people want to eat more. They take part the Turkey Trot to burn many calories , so they can eat them more and more.😆😆
