Sir, I am an JEE aspirant and passed my boards from Assam Higher Secondary Education Council ( AHSEC) with 68% in 2022. As i thought i am not well prepared for jee 2022 i took a drop year as NTA removed the 75% criteria for admissions in IIT, NITS & CFTIS in the year 2020 2021 2022 and didn't notify about the eligibility criteria for 2023 if they would have earlier announced the critera for 2023 i could have saved 1 year and its complete injustice to the dropers of 2022 who suffered academic loss due to the pandemic. Sir i request you to kindly make an video on the injustice towards the droppers

Digital media got content cinema to the world . People got to know how Bollywood copied from other Cinemas so instead of Bollywood movies, they prefer to watch regional and international cinema

Correction*** Netflix and Prime were doing the same before also. In 2018/19 the movie didn't have a well known star, OTT rejected the movie and told the maker to run the movie in the theater and come back. The minimum eligibility was the film should run at least 3 weeks in at least one theater. Some producers even paid theaters to run their movies for 3 weeks. ❤️

Covid has changed things drastically unexpectedly. Before people used to watch movies for fun but now they think of cost and content and then choose to go for it. I'm not sure of all but the majority yes.The thinking and perceiving power of people has changed. Like rightly pointed slow/generic movies are best to be watched on OTT compared to movies with heavy visual effects. If possible it would be great if you can make a video on what's the future of DTHs?

I agree. People now value their time and money. It's convenient to watch movies in home than in theatre..

It's not OTT platforms that led to Bollywood's downfall. It's their constant obsession with entertaining "local" audience as opposed to international audience while constantly bashing "western culture". If Bollywood made movies with half-decent plots, dialogues and screenplays that made sense instead of playing substitute for porn to India's middle class who otherwise can't access it so that it attracted international audience, then it wouldn't have been in trouble right now.

Hats off to the person who researched and find all the data of such platform.. Nice insight

Very much appreciable video by Dhruv!! I usually prefer OTT web series above Normal Movies. As they are slow paced and we not only saw a character but we are able to feel it. In the most rare case For watching MARVEL and Other good 3D movie I prefer Cinema Hall over OTT.

Great analysis as always Dhruv. Add to that, people will watch what they find interesting, and that changes with time. A big demography of people don't care about item numbers, or over dramatic movie scenes anymore, they want original stuff, not rehashed remade stuff that came out maybe only 15 years ago. At this rate I won't be surprised if there's a 3 idiots remake. That's why I have massive respect for actors who choose offbeat stories, at least they are trying to change the perspective and branching out to stories that are versatile. People want original content now.

Nowadays people want to see larger than life movies in theatres,which i think bollywood is lacking currently. People just don't want to go theatres and spend a bomb on flop movies,that's why everyone is switching to ott platform where they can watch any movie within their comfort.

It's not OTT platform but it's Bollywood itself and the reason is Bollywood has same heros heroines , directors and writers with no new stories and hardly give any chances to new comers and new talent. There are only few actors who knows acting but they also started working in such meaning less big budget films. Initially for few years people accepted and then people got bored and started exploring South movies where they saw refreshed stories and actors. So many new commers, talents and unseen refreshing stories. And even big stars movies in south make simple movies where they look simple with no six pack abs like normal people. And people relate to those films and actors. They look good and fit in both Rich and poor personality films.

OTT is really a blessing. Lots of money saved in travelling, avoiding unnecessary inflated snacks in theaters etc and watching in our comfort at Home. Only visual Treat movies like Avatar need to be watched in Theaters which are meant for Theater Experience only.

Believe there is another source of income for these OTT platforms.. i.e., from telecom providers. Which is also a considerable portion of their revenue. And it is also used to calculate per movie revenue generated.

You forgot to mention cricket. Because of cricket they started making money more specially hotstar, they got all the subscription just for cricket and afterwards they see that subscriber also watch there show they start taking more movie and series. Amazon, Netfix, MX Player and many more are trying to get cricket match revenue on their platform after seeing this much success of Hotstar.

You explained well about OTT, but not why bollywood films are failing. Let me explain my opinion: With this internet era people are watching good content through OTT(ex: I watch movies or web series which is good in OTT but not all the content placed in the OTT) , Now everyone matured what to see.. And what is original content (recent years most of the successful bollywood movies are remake from other film industries). Guys pls comment your point which impacting more on bollywood film industry.. Some points I noted: 1) Missing content 2) Attitude 3) Monopoly

No then why south indian films are getting success without promotion here Bollywood actors spent more time on promotion than making movie still movie gets flop the reason is content 10 years ago people didn't had cellphones (Android) so they were unaware of movies so Bollywood was the only option for them but now they can watch any movie they want if south indian movies are offering Better content why they will watch propoganda crap Bollywood. Bollywood always give excuses like we don't have budget,fans are arrogant but they don't accept that they are wrong they have to change themselves

Number one reason is that people are not having cash in their hands to watch films from theatre. Post demonetization and corona, people have literally become poor. The situation is different in South India because for them, cinema is part of their life unlike the North Indians for whom cinema is just a means of entertainment. So it does not matter to the North Indians whether they are watching it from theatre or youtube or telegram.

People are getting mature faster nowadays so therefore Bollywood's senseless movies are not going that long way as earlier

I believe trend is changing towards ott because people think that spending 300 rupees per ticket on a movie which they can watch in few days on ott platform is not worthy at all.Most of the films are on ott and that too very early. People would now spend on tickets only to watch mass movies,action movies.

I agree with your word but ott can't defeat theatre😍 because of ott is just simple to watch content as regular as TV previously but theatre is a experience an journey to feel the movie it's never been create by ott anymore🙏

I beg to disagree here… of the 135+ cr Indians not everyone has access to OTT. We should never assume just because you and me have a smartphone and KZread access doesn’t mean the rest of India has that
